October is Made for Keeneland

A fantastic Fall Friday unfolds as we take a look at a terrific race for the youngsters at beautiful Keeneland.

Keeneland Race 9 {Darley Alcibiades~G1~1 1/16 mile~2 year old~fillies~Stakes}
A superb field of fourteen 2 year-old fillies will line up for this annual contest.  All running styles are well represented in this crowded field.  There is genuine parity among this group.  Any one of these gals could put in a tremendous effort to grab the win.  It is indeed a handicapping challenge.

#10 Tara From the Cape (Dominguez / Pletcher) has a tiny edge with a couple of decent last out speed numbers, a three race progression, and three robust workouts.  She should be forwardly placed ready to smoothly move through the stretch.
$1 WIN / $1 SHOW.

#5 Fully Living (Cohen / McPeek) should bring on the challenge as a daughter of Unbridled's Song whose progency travel well over the Polytrack surface.  She will be running on it for the first time with a couple of decent last out speed numbers and one fierce bullet workout.

#3 Rose to Gold (Rios / Santoro) should contend with the second highest last out speed number, a two race progression that were both victories, and the highest speed number at the distance.  She can be expected to be forwardly placed ready to pounce.

#6 Broken Spell (Maragh / Lukas) could be in the mix with the fourth highest (tie) last out speed number, a well managed five race progression, and three athletic workouts.  She could surprise with a nice mid-pack tracking run.

A Six Furlong Hoosier Thursday

We open up our horse racing weekend with a little six furlong race in the Hoosier state.

Hoosier Park Race 5 {6 furlongs~3 year old Up~IN~Allowance}
A good group of nine runners will make the start in this dirt sprint.  It appears to be a well balanced field with all running styles represented.  A decent race should follow.

#7 An Eagle Flies (Thompson / Burton) looks ready to take another step forward with the second highest last out speed number as well as the second highest speed number at the distance.  Additionally, he holds the second highest speed number over the Hoosier track which includes a 100% in the money record over four starts.  A pressing attack will allow him to get first jump on the field.
$2 SHOW.

#9 Herecomesthemaster (Goncalves / Kohnhorst) will challenge with the highest speed number at the distance, a couple of decent last out speed numbers, a two race progression, and two stout workouts.  He could track the pace with great effect.

#8 Springvalleyrascal (St. Julien / Walker) will be making his second career start after 30 day layoff.  He holds the fourth highest last out speed number resulting in a win over the Hoosier track and has put in a bullet workout.  He could close with a stunning rush.

#4 Athisbest (Coa / Cristel) could surprise with a decent 75% in the money record at this distance with a competitive personal best speed number that fits well in this group.  He has put in two strong workouts and his tracker/closing style could allow him to take advantage of an honest pace.

Fairplex Friday

"LA's not my kind of town"..., but Fairplex does bring some interesting horse racing.

Fairplex Race 9 {PD Shepherd~7 furlongs~2 year old~fillies~Stakes}
A nice group of ten youngsters will make the start in this stakes sprint.  The race comes up nicely balanced with all running styles represented.  It appears that this one could be any gals race.

#10 Hyena (Krigger / P. Miller) could surprise with the third highest (3-way tie) last out speed number and four superb peaking workouts.  She could track the leaders ready to sprint quickly in the stretch.
$2 SHOW.

#8 Renee's Titan (Hernandez / Mora) should do well coming out of two graded stakes.  She holds the second highest last out speed number as well as the second best overall speed number.  She has the tactical speed to stay in it from the start.

#4 Gloryandprayer (Guce / Knapp) looks ready to go to the next level sharing the third highest last out speed number, working a two race progression, and putting in two athletic, peaking workouts.  She could track the pace and shoot on through.

#3 Fightin Mean Mad (Pedroza / Bonde) should show speed from the outset.  She holds the highest last out speed number in her only race, and has put in three speedy workouts.  This gal has the potential to wire the field.

Another Hoosier Thursday

We go to the dirt in Hoosierville for the opening of our horse racing weekend.

Hoosier Park Race 6 {1 mile~3 year old Up~IN~Allowance}
A good field of eight will go to the gate in this Indiana bred allowance race.  Hardly any speed may change the running style strategy for the favs in this dirt route.

#5 Senor Rain (Goncalves / Amoss) comes up super strong in this race with the highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and two fine workouts.  He should pose a superb pressing attack to take the win.

#8 Damion E.T. (Turner / Fosdick) should make a cahllenging effort from off the pace with the second highest (tie) last out speed number, a two race progression, and one stout workout.

Friday at Presque Isle Downs

Thank goodness for Friday, once again.  We take a look at a wonderful sprint featuring fillies and mares.

Presque Isle Downs {6 furlongs~3 year olds Up~fillies/mares~Allowance}
A good field of ten will make their start on the tapeta surface.  This race is loaded with speed which should favor those coming from off the pace.  A good old fashioned Friday sprint.

#9 Sisterhood (Trujillo / Ward) looks ready to roll with the highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and five superb peaking workouts.  She should track the pace and fire fluidly in the stretch.
$2 SHOW.

#1 Broadway Marquee (Martinez / Scace) could surprise with the second highest (tie) last out speed number, a four race progression, and three stout workouts.  She is another that will track the pace.

#10 Dark Desire (Lopez / Ferraro) should be in the mix with a pressing / tracking attack.  She has the fourth highest (tie) last out speed number, a two race progression, and one strong workout.

Hoosier Thursday

For the start of our horse racing weekend we take a look at a tidy little race in the heart of Indiana.

Hoosier Park Race 5 {1 mile~3 year old Up~IN~Allowance}
A good group of ten will go to the start for this Indiana allowance race.  Very little speed will be an advantage for those close to the pace.  A nice race for the opening of our horse racing weekend.

#6 Flashy Kid (Cedeno / Abner) has a very slight edge with the second highest last out speed number at a longer route and one solid workout.  This guy has done well at Hoosier when tracking the pace.
$2 SHOW.

#3 He's Got the Facts (Prescott / Granitz) will challenge with the highest last out speed number, a five race progression, and one modest workout.  This gelding could wire the field as a speedster.

Today we go into the night at Presque Isle Downs.

A great group of twelve line up for this terrific stakes race.  Gayego (A. Garcia / bin Suroor) has the edge with the highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and three robust workouts.  He has also traversed over the tapeta surface in the UAE.  Stunning Stag (Olguin / Attard) looks well prepped coming down from Woodbine in Canada.  He shows the second highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and three superb workouts.  Cherokee Artist (Rose / Motion) looks very strong with the second highest speed number at the distance as well as a 100% in the money record at a mile.  He has put in three credible workouts prepping for this race.  Mambo Meister (Beckner / Gleaves) will be in the hunt with a solid three digit speed number at the distance and three hardy, peaking workouts.  Allies Event (Montalvo / Smock) will be the surprise with a couple of top last out speed numbers, a win at the distance, and a bullet workout.  Let's play the Presque Isle Mile.

Garcia / Baffert) looks much the best with the highest speed number at this distance, 100% in the money at the distance and three robust, peaking workouts.  Folk Dancer (Atkinson / Cerin) looks solid with the second highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and one fierce bullet workout.  Feeling Fancy (Santiago / Lucarelli) appears ready with two nice wins over the distance, a couple of decent last out speed numbers, and one bullet workout.  True Religion (Nakatani / Cassidy) should be in the chase for a piece of the purse coming off a route and three hearty workouts.  Subsidized (Pedroza / Baffert) will be the favorite and can be expected to challenge if he takes to the dirt.  He has the highest last out speed number and four decent workouts.  Let's play Fairplex Park.

A Saratoga Friday

Today we give a look at the Hall of Fame Stakes at Saratoga.

A high quality field of six will run notwithstanding any stormy skies that may arise.  Interactif (Castellano / Pletcher) looks head and hooves above the rest.  He is 100% in the money on the Turf over five races, shows the highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and two athletic workouts.  Interactif will be the one to beat.  Nordic Truce (Leparoux / Clement) looks solid for this race with the third highest last out speed number and three smashing workouts.  Paris Vegas (Gomez / Chappet) could be the surprise in his first North American start.  He put in a solid second place performance in his last which was a longer route.  Let's play Saratoga.

A nice field of ten horses will run in this starter allowance.  Star of New York (Castellano / Galluscio) looks to have a slight edge with the highest speed number at the distance, the third highest last out speed number and two solid, peaking workouts.  Numb Lips (Coa / Fawkes) will seek to challenge coming off a route with the fourth highest (tie) speed number and two well-built, peaking workouts.  Henceforth (Albarado / Stewart) will be motoring on the front end seeking a victory.  He is coming off a route with the second highest last out speed number and three robust workouts.  Good Karma (J. Velasquez / Martin) will be closing well with a decent last out speed number coming off a route and two athletic workouts.  Let's play Saratoga.
