We start our horse racing weekend with some good New York Turf.
Belmont Park Race 7 {1 1/4 mile~TURF~3 year old Up~Maiden Special Weight}
A very nice field of nine is expected to make this start in this longer distance Turf route. Minor speed should result in a moderate pace. Few have gone this distance in their relatively short careers. It should be a good race.
#2 Fact (A. Garcia / McLaughlin) should set the pace with the highest (tie) last out speed number and four fantastic peaking workouts. He also has the highest speed number at this distance. This four year-old son of A.P. Indy could wire the field.
$1 WIN / $1 SHOW.
#1A Night Site (Lezcano / Mott) or his coupled entrant, #1 Input will no doubt challenge, sharing the highest last out speed number and putting in two solid workouts. It matters little as to which one goes, they both are quite capable of notching their first victory.
$1 PLACE / $1 SHOW.
#4 Candy Feat (C. Velasquez / Toner) could prove his mettle with the third highest (3-way tie) last out speed number and two steady workouts. He will be making his first attempt at this distance, but has run well over the green.
$1 SHOW.
Other Wagering Interests
#7 Lure of the South (W. Garcia / Kelly) could get the job done this time with the fourth highest last out speed number and three strong peaky workouts. Despite his poor record, his speed number at this distance rates well with the field.
#3 Popplestone (Napravnik / Fisher) could also be in the mix sharing the third highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and one efficient workout. This gelding is one of the few tested at this distance.
10 CENT Superfecta
#2 Fact / #1A Night Site or #1 Input / #4 Candy Feat / #7 Lure of the South, #3 Popplestone.

Fairplex Park Race 11 {Ralph M. Hinds Handicap~1 1/8 mile~3 year old Up~Stakes}

He also holds the highest speed number over the Fairplex track and the highest speed number at the distance. He will be our bronze horseshoe runner.

His last out was decent over the synthetic, but it is the dirt, the distance, and the Fairplex track that he loves. He has put in three stout workouts prepping for this race. He should pose a mighty challenge in the stretch.
#8 Juniper Pass (M. Garcia / Bell) could surprise making his first start over the dirt. He is a turf specialist that loves the longer distance routes. This guy is coming off a longer route and has put in three robust, peaking workouts.
#6 Worth Repeating (Pedroza / Machovsky) looks ready to ride this surface again. He shares the highest last out speed number at a longer turf route.
