Superfecta Sunday on Santa Anita Turf

 No better way to play on Sunday than to wager and watch Santa Anita Turf races.

Santa Anita Race 9 {Robert J. Frankel Stakes~G3~1 1/8 mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~Fillies/Mares~Graded Stakes}

A splendid field of eight will hit the grass in this annual affair.

Past Performances used:  DRF Formulator.

There is enough speed among these ladies to keep the pace moving swiftly over the green. Speed numbers are super close making it any of these gals race. Half the field has not yet raced over the Santa Anita course. Our task is to whip together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket. It should be an amazing race.

#10 Mucho Unusual (J. Velazquez / Yakteen) could go off as the favorite with the highest speed number at the distance and four superb workouts. This gal loves the Santa Anita course and should be tracking the field. A daughter of Mucho Macho Man, she is 70% in the money from seventeen career starts.

#4 Miss Teheran [IRE] (Rosario / C. Brown) should challenge with the highest (tie) last out speed number and one solid workout. She is another in the group of trackers that will be chasing the pace. This lady comes in from the East coast. A daughter of Teoflio [IRE], she is 66% in the money from six career starts. She is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.

$2 SHOW.

#1 Rideforthecause (Rispoli / McCarthy) will contend with a decent last out speed number at a longer route and three hearty workouts. Again, another tracker in the mix. She comes in from Woodbine. A daughter of Candy Ride [ARG], she holds the second highest speed number at this distance.

#9 Zee Drop (Prat / D'Amato) should also be in the hunt for victory with the second highest (tie) last out speed number and two strong workouts. This gal should run closer to the pace than this group of trackers and get first run heading into the stretch. A daughter of Lemon Drop Kid, she is 54% in the money from eleven career starts.

Let there be Turf to finish out our horse racing year.  A talented group of nine will go to the grass in this annual feature.  The race comes up a little light on speed.  We can expect a quickening rush of beauty as they head for home.  It should be a very contentious race as all of these gals are quite comparable in terms of speed numbers.  Let's try to piece together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket.

#7 Customer Base (Smith / Proctor) might have an edge coming out of grade two with the highest last out speed number, a four race progression, and four superb workouts.  She should be tracking the pace closely and launch smoothly into the stretch.

#5 Stormy Lucy (Enriquez / Lucarelli) should challenge with the second highest last out speed number and one successful workout.  She is another that should track the pace and pounce heading into the stretch.  This gal is very comfortable at the distance.

#9 Appealing [IRE] (Nakatani / Gallagher) should contend with the fourth highest last out speed number and three strong endurance producing workouts.  She enjoys the Santa Anita Turf and will be tracking the pace, while firing fresh.  She is our Bronze Horseshoe runner.
