Stakes Saturday in Kentucky

On this Stakes Saturday we turn our attention to a fantastic Turf contest down in Kentucky.

Keeneland Race 9 {Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup~G1~1 1/8 mile~TURF~3 year-old~Fillies~Graded Stakes}

A supremely talented field of eight will take to the Keeneland green in this annual contest. There is enough speed to maintain an honest pace. Speed figs are very, very close. This is a wonderful race from a wagering standpoint as any one of these gals can pull off the victory. It should be the best race of the day.

#1 Catch a Glimpse (Geroux / Casse) should be the deserved favorite with the highest (tie) last out speed number, a seven race progression, and four superb peaking workouts. This gal is undefeated over the Keeneland Turf. She has won eight times and holds a 90% in the money record from ten starts. A millionaire daughter of City Zip, she could wire this field.
$1 WIN  /  $2 PLACE  /  $3 SHOW.

#7 Time and Motion (J. Velazquez / Toner) will pose a mighty challenge sharing the highest last out speed number, working a five race progression, and putting in four exceptional peaking workouts. This gal has accumulated four wins and has a 75% in the money record from eight starts. A daughter of Tapit she should be tracking the leaders ready to strike.
$1 PLACE  /  $2 SHOW.

#5 Hawksmoor [IRE] (Lanerie / Palmer) is a Euro invader making her first North American start. This gal has hit the board at this distance in her only start over it. She has battled valiantly against other Euros in Ireland, Germany, France, and Great Britain, achieving an impressive 77% in the money record from nine starts. A daughter of Azamour [IRE], she now tackles her talented American cousins.
$1 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#9 Mokat (Desormeaux / Baltas) should contend with the fourth highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and four sensational peaking workouts. She comes into Kentucky from California with a top notch in the money record of 60% from ten starts. This daughter of Uncle Mo is another that will be tracking the pace.

#2 On Leave (J. Ortiz / McGaughey) owns a four race win streak and comes into this one in top form. She holds the second highest last out speed number, a six race progression, and two solid workouts. This daughter of War Front has the tactical speed to sit right off the pace seeking to spring into the stretch.

Mojo Risin' Superfecta Sunday

Hopefully we'll meet the "lucky little lady from the city of light" as we look in on a terrific sprint race at that beautiful race track nestled Arcadia, California.

Santa Anita Park Race 8 {LA Woman~G3~6 1/2 Furlongs~3 year-old Up~Fillies/Mares~Graded Stakes}

A great crop of eight will go to the gate in this super competitive sprint. There is a smattering of speed coupled with forwardly placed types to give the pace some oomph. Speed numbers are very close making it any of these girls' race. Our task is to tie together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket.

#4 Luminance (Bejarano / Baffert) might have the edge as she stretches out 110 yards with the highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and four dynamite workouts. This gal should track the leaders and swing into the stretch with a wholesome kick. She is 66% in the money from six career starts.

#5 Glorryzapper (Elliott / D'Amato) should challenge with the second highest (tie) last out speed number at a route and three superbly speedy workouts. This gal appears to love the distance and the Santa Anita track. She is 85% in the money from seven career starts. A possible wire job may be in the offing. This girl is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.

#1 Wild At Heart (Smith / Mandella) will contend with a couple of fine last out speed numbers, a two race progression, and three sharp peaking workouts. She should be traveling close to the pace and get first jump on the leaders. This gal has hit the board in all of her six starts.

#3 Perfect Pic (Gonzalez / Cassidy) should be in the hunt with a couple of very good last out speed numbers and three quality works. She is another that should be forwardly placed ready to rumble through. This gal is 100% in the money from only two career starts.
