Breeder's Cup 2013 Begins

Friday is the start of many of this years Breeder's Cup races.  Today we look at the crown jewel of today's card.

Santa Anita Race 10 {Breeder's Cup Distaff~G1~1 1/8 mile~3 year old Up~fillies/mares~Stakes}
A high octane field of six gals will take to the California dirt in the best race on today's card.  All have had at least a thirty day freshening.  There is sufficient speed to get these gals rolling fast.  It should be a glorious race.

#4 Royal Delta (Smith / Mott) holds nearly all the cards in this one.  She has the highest speed number at the distance, the fourth highest last out speed number, and three tenacious peaking workouts.  Clearly she is the one to beat.  The favorite and likely winner will have little value from a wagering perspective.
No Value.

#6 Princess of Sylmar (Castellano / Pletcher) will challenge from a tracking position with the second highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and three hearty workouts.  Like the favorite, Royal Delta, she is 100% in the money at this distance.  Should the pace get extremely heated this gal could benefit greatly.
$2 SHOW.

#2 Authenticity (J. Velazquez / Pletcher) should contend with the third highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and three superb workouts.  She can follow the leaders closely and then engage them in the stretch.  She too, is 100% in the money at this distance.
$2 SHOW.

Another Wagering Interest

#1 Street Girl (Castillo / Azpurua) could be the big surprise with a couple of decent last out speed numbers and a tremendous work tab of six speedy workouts.  She will benefit from a scintillating pace as a fierce closer.  This gal has the potential to step up big time.

10 CENT Superfecta

#4 Royal Delta / #6 Princess of Sylmar / #2 Authenticity / #1 Street Girl plus #5 Beholder and #3 Close Hatches.
