Superfecta Sunday at Santa Anita

As Santa Anita closes out its Spring meet we take in an excellent graded Turf race.

Santa Anita Park Race 9 {Wilshire~G3~1 mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~Fillies/Mares~Graded Stakes}

A great group of nine will hit the green in this annual affair. There is plentiful speed to insure a speedy pace. Speed numbers are very close making for a highly competitive event. Pick six players will want to have a lot of coverage in this race for that huge 821k carryover. All of these gals are battle tested and all have a chance to saunter into the winners circle. Our task is to try to knit together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket.

#9 Ancient Secret (Prat / D'Amato) might have the edge with the highest last out speed number, a five race progression, and two sound workouts. This gal loves the Turf, distance and Santa Anita course. A daughter of Kantharos, she should track the pace and swoop into the stretch. She is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.
$2 SHOW.

#5 Sophie P [GB] (Desormeaux / Cassidy) will pose a mighty challenge with the second highest (tie) last out speed number at a longer route, a two race progression, and two stout workouts. This gal should be on the improve as she enters her third race of the form cycle. A daughter of Bushranger [IRE], she should be tracking the pace ready to strike.

#7 Storm The Hill (Bejarano / D'Amato) should contend as she also exits a longer Turf route. This gal has a couple of decent last out speed numbers, a two race progression, and three superb workouts. This daughter of Get Stormy, is 100% in the money over the Santa Anita Turf. She should track and close efficiently.

#4 Miss Julia Starr [FR] should be in the mix as part of the front running crew. She holds a couple of good last out speed numbers, a two race progression, and four excellent workouts. This will be the daughter of Never On Sunday [FR] third North American start after racing overseas. Of this group, she has the best in the money record at 78% from fourteen career starts.

A veteran group of Turfers will hit the green in this annual graded affair. There is enough speed to keep a swift pace. Speed numbers are fairly close making it anyone's race. A couple of millionaires are in the field. Our task it to cobble together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket.

Superfecta Sunday in Sunny Southern Cal

Congratulations to Justify and his connections on becoming the thirteenth Triple Crown champion. The Belmont Stakes was a tremendous race.

Today we take in a meat and potato claiming race in sunny southern California.

Santa Anita Park Race 6 {7 Furlongs~4 year-old Up~Claiming}

A good group of ten horses will go to the gate in this claiming event. It comes up a little light on speed with a few in here that could be forwardly placed. It feels like it will be a tactical race. Speed numbers for these maidens are somewhat close making for a super competitive race. Our task is to stitch together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket.

#6 Dare to Enter (Bejarano / Pender) looks much the best as he drops in from a more competitive event. He holds the second highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and two sound workouts. This lad should be tracking the pace. He is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.
$2 SHOW.

#5 Moonman (Pedroza / Treece) should challenge with the third highest last out speed number at a route and two robust workouts. This guy has logged in the highest speed number over the track and surface amongst this group. He could scoot from the gate and be forwardly placed ready to pounce.

#10 Trojan Time (Elliott / Truman) could go off as the favorite with the highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and two superb workouts. He appears to love the Santa Anita track and will be advancing in distance. This guy might also be part of the forwardly placed crew.

#3 Wheresthemoneyjack (Fuertes / Marquez) already has a win at this distance securing the second highest speed number of the group. He holds a couple of good last out speed numbers and one stout workout. He looks to improve with his second effort this season.

150th Running of the Belmont Stakes

A gorgeous day at beautiful and bountiful Belmont Park for the 150th running of the Belmont Stakes.

Belmont Park Race 11 {BELMONT STAKES~G1~1 1/2 mile~3 year-old~Graded Stakes}

A highly talented field of ten will go to the gate in the third jewel of the Triple Crown. All eyes will be on Justify as he tries to become a Triple Crown winner. There is some speed and a clump of horses will race just off it. Speed numbers are wide and varied as many of these fellas are still acclimating to the game. None of these guys has gone this distance making it truly the test of a Champion. It will be a pulse pounding race.

#1 Justify (Smith / Baffert) has a good chance to become a Triple Crown winner. He holds the highest last out speed number and two strong workouts. It is his race to lose. This son of Scat Daddy is the most accomplished and capable horse in the field to win it. He will be seeking his sixth win in a row. His odds will not be great. Accordingly we will make a token win wager.
$1 WIN.

#4 Hofburg (I. Ortiz / Mott) is one of two in here that the distance will not be any trouble at all. In fact he will relish it. Holding the fourth highest (tie) last out speed number and three superb peaking workouts, this lad could be a serious threat to Justify's Triple Crown bid. A son of Tapit, whose progeny love winning the Belmont, he should be closing gallantly over the dirt. He will be making his fifth career start.
$1 PLACE  /  $2 SHOW.

#8 Vino Rosso (J. Velazquez / Pletcher) could also threaten with a couple of decent last out speed numbers and two very sound workouts. This guy does hold the second highest speed number of this field. A son of Curlin, he should track the pace closely and spurt into the stretch battling on.
$2 SHOW.

#7 Tenfold (Santana / Asmussen) is yet another developing colt that should continue to show great improvement. He holds the third highest last out speed number, a four race progression, and two hearty workouts. Another son of Curlin, he should be close to the pace and not have any problem making the distance.
$1 SHOW.

#6 Gronkowski (J. Ortiz / C. Brown) comes in from across the pond after successfully racing in Great Britain. His Time Form rating are on par with the other challengers here and has worked two stout workouts prepping for his first dirt race. This son of Lonhro [AUS] comes into the race with four races in a row. He could be a factor in the race.
