Stakes Saturday Tonight in Indiana

With Saratoga and Del Mar looming on the horizon, we take in another fine Derby race in Indiana.

Indiana Grand Race 9 {Indiana Derby~G3~1 1/16 mile~3 year-old~Graded Stakes}

A solid field of nine will take to the gate in this annual graded route. There is plentiful speed to keep the pace humming. Speed numbers are very close which should create a competitive event. Only one in here has ever raced over the Indiana dirt which makes it any horses race. It should be a high quality event under the lights.

#7 Title Ready (Santana / Asmussen) might have the edge sharing the second highest last out speed number at a slightly longer route, working a three race progression, and putting in two strong workouts. This son of More Than Ready should track the pace closely and strike in going into the stretch.
$2 WIN  /  $3 PLACE  /  $5 SHOW.

#4 Dark Vader (Nakatani / Eurton) comes in from California to challenge with the third highest last out speed number and three wicked good workouts. No slouch at this distance he holds the second highest speed number at it. A son of Tale of Ekati, he could be forwardly placed positioned to get first jump on the leaders.
$2 PLACE / $3 SHOW.

#1 Trigger Warning (Rosendo / Rone) looks ready to tackle this distance and hit the board on his third attempt. He shares the second highest last out speed number at a slightly longer route, is working a five race progression, and has put in one quality workout. A son of Candy Ride [ARG], he should battle near the front end as they turn for home.
$2 SHOW.

#8 King Zachary (Albarado / Romans) should go off as the deserved favorite with the highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and two superb workouts. This guy leads the field with an 83% in the money record from six starts. A son of Curlin, he should be tracking the field closely ready to spring into the stretch.

Superfecta Sunday in New York

Back to beautiful Belmont where the grass in green. On this Superfecta Sunday we take a look at another long one on the grass.

Belmont Park Race 7 {The River Memories~1 1/2 mile~TURF~4 year-old Up~Fillies and Mares~Stakes}

A good group of eight will hit the grass in this stakes event. It comes up a little light on speed. A Euro quickening might be in store as the gals round the turn heading home. Speed numbers are relatively close which should make for a competitive race. Our task is to link together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket.

#1 Summersault (J. Velazquez / Hennig) appears the one to beat with the second highest last out speed number and three superb peaking workouts. This gal has gone this distance well running in the money twice in four tries. A daughter of Rock Hard Ten, she should be part of the quickening crew.

#5 Estrecada [ARG] (Prat / Diodoro) should also be one of the favorites with the highest (tie) last out speed number, a three race progression, and two hearty workouts. She is the only other one in the race to have gone this distance achieving a 66% in the money record from six starts at it. A daughter of Offlee Wild, she should be running close to the pace.

#6 Silver Step [FR] (M. Franco / Clement) will be making her third North American start. She has put together two decent last out performances and can be expected to improve. This gal already has four wins to her credit while running overseas. A daughter of Silver Frost [IRE], she should track and strike in the stretch. She is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.
$3 SHOW.

#2 Homeland Security (I. Ortiz / C. Brown) should contend with a couple of good last out speed numbers and four robust workouts. She can be expected to improve in her sixth career start.
