Superfecta Sunday at Santa Anita

We go into our last Superfecta Sunday of the year looking at a fine Turf race at the "Great Race Place".

Santa Anita Park Race 8 {Blue Norther Stakes~1 mile~TURF~2 year-old~Fillies~Stakes}

There is parity in this field of nine. Any one of these gals can pull off the victory. There is enough speed to produce a swift pace and the speed figs are very close. Four are coming out of the same graded event, while the others are moving up in class for this event. Our task is to sew together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta Box ticket.

#6 Laura's Light (Cedillo / Miller) might have the edge as she enters her third career race. This gal holds the highest last out speed number and three robust workouts. She has hit the board in both of her career races. A daughter of Constitution, she should be forwardly placed in a good position to capture this one.

#8 Croughavouke [IRE] (Rispoli / Mullins) should challenge with the second highest last out speed number, the highest speed number at the distance and two strong workouts. This gal loves the surface, distance and Santa Anita course. A daughter of Dandy Man [IRE], she will track and close with grit. She is out Bronze Horseshoe selection.

#2 Guitty [FR] (Rosario / Powell) is another that will contend as she improves with every race. She holds a couple of good last out speed figs and two sound workouts. This gal has two wins from three starts at this distance. A daughter of Dunkerque [FR], she will be tracking and closing gracefully.

#5 Overjoyed (Smith / Drysdale) should be in the mix with the fourth highest last out speed number and three solid workouts. She has a win at the distance where she earned the third highest speed number at same. A daughter of Medaglia d'Oro, she should be tracking the pace ready to strike in the stretch.

Opening Day at Santa Anita

On this Stakes Saturday we take a look at a fantastic race on a tremendous card for Santa Anita's Opening day.

Santa Anita Park Race 6 {American Oaks~G1~1 1/4 mile~3 year-old~Fillies~Graded Stakes}

A magnificent field of eight will hit the grass in this annual affair. There is a bit of speed which should take them through modest fractions. Speed numbers are very close making this race a very competitive one. None of these ladies have gone this distance, though one, Vibrance, a little bit longer. It should be a challenging race from a handicapping perspective and an exciting one at that.

#8 Vibrance (Cedillo / McCarthy) is coming down in distance from her last where she scored the third highest last out speed number. She has put in two sound workouts readying for this event. A daughter of Violence, she will be tracking the pace looking to improve her 55% in the money record from nine starts.

Superfecta Sunday in the Valley of the Sun

In the search of Turf, we focus on a nice mile race in the Valley of the Sun.

Turf Paradise Race 4 {1 mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~Allowance Optional Claiming}

A good group of eight will venture onto the Phoenix Turf. There is some speed to keep the pace moving swiftly. Speed figs are fairly close making it a very competitive event. All have raced a fair amount of times this year which could make it any of these lads race. Our task is to weave together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta Box ticket.

#5 Boundary Bay (D. Velazquez / Gann) will be striding onto the Turf for the first time with the highest last out speed number and two sound workouts. This guy also holds the second highest speed number at the distance, albeit on dirt. A son of Harbor the Gold, he should show speed from the gate opening. Could be the favorite.

#8 Parking Permit (A. Cruz / J. Brown) holds the highest speed number over the Turf Paradise TURF and has put in two hearty peaking workouts. This lad favors the surface and distance. A son of James Street, he should be tracking the pace looking to strike in the stretch.

#2 Its a Boy (S. Stevens / Brinson) is coming off an extended layoff with two strong peaking workouts. This guy holds the fourth highest speed number at the distance. He does like the Turf Paradise course. A son of English Channel, he should track and close efficiently. He is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.

#6 Christine's Jack (L. Valenzuela / Knapp) should pose a quality challenge with the third highest last out speed number and fourth highest (tie) at the distance. Today we take a look at a short and sweet graded stakes race for our Stakes Saturday.

A solid field of six will go to the gate in this annual event. There is plenty of speed to keep a dashing pace. Speed figs are fairly close. Two tremendous millionaires will give it their all in this race. All will be firing fresh. It should be a swift and exciting race.

#2 Imperial Hint (Castellano / Carvajal) is primed for a big effort with the highest last out speed number and two sensational bullet workouts. This lad has already scored three wins from five starts at this very distance. A millionaire son of Imperialism, he should be traveling right off the pace ready to spring forward for the win.

Superfecta Sunday in Wonderful OK

We look at a nice Stakes race for the young fillies down in wonderful Oklahoma.

Remington Park Race 8 {Trapeze Stakes~1 mile~2 year-old~Fillies~Stakes}

A great group of nine will gallop to the gate in this annual affair. There is a good deal of speed among these young ladies perhaps setting it up for one that comes off the pace. Speed figs are very close. It should be a highly competitive event. Our task is to lasso a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket.

#8 Caribbean Sea (Eramia / Asmussen) might have the edge with the fourth highest last out speed number and two robust peaking workouts. This young lady has already won at the distance and will be making her third start of the form cycle. A graded Turf race is on tap for our Stakes Saturday in lovely South Florida.

Another fine Superfecta Sunday as Fall draws to a close. We take a peek at a terrific Turf race in South Florida.

Gulfstream Park Race 4 {1 mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~Maiden Special Weight}

A good group of nine maidens will hit the Florida Turf seeking their first victory. There is a little speed to keep a decent pace on. A couple of first time starters make their appearance making the race intriguing. Of those that have run, the speed figs are fairly close. Our task is to string together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket. It should be a fascinating race.

#7 Holy Meister (Torres / M. Casse) is coming off a modest layoff and should be able to take another step forward. He holds the second highest last out speed number and three diligent workouts. This lad loves the Turf, distance and the Gulfstream course. A son of Bodemeister, he should track and close swiftly. He is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.

#9 Motataabeq (Leparoux / McLaughlin) should challenge with the third highest last out speed number and three strong workouts. This guy raced at Belmont and Saratoga in his first two starts among keen competition. A son of City Zip, he should relish the Florida Turf and distance.

#5 Rise n' Shine (P. Lopez / Dwoskin) switches from dirt to Turf in this third career start. He has already tackled this distance scoring the fourth highest (tie) speed number at it. Have a Cigar on Stakes Saturday

On this Stakes Saturday we take in a premiere stakes race in bonnie New York.

Aqueduct Race 10 {Cigar Mile Handicap~G1~1 mile~3 year-old Up~Graded Stakes}

A fantastic group of eleven will go to the gate in this annual grade one. There is sufficient speed to maintain an honest pace. Speed figs are fairly close as this group assembles. There are four millionaires in this one, each with a chance to bring home the hardware. Only two have never raced at the mile distance, but both are quite capable. It should be one of the best races of the fall.

#5 Maximum Security (L. Saez / Ja. Servis) should be the deserved favorite as he runs the mile distance for the first time. The DQ'd winner of the Kentucky Derby has won his last two. He holds the third highest (tie) last out speed number and three robust peaking workouts. A son of New Year's Day, this guy is primed and ready to wire this field. Odds will not be great, so a token win wager will be placed.

#4 Pat On The Back (D. Davis / J. Englehart) should contend  with a couple of very good last out speed numbers and four strong workouts. This lad loves the distance and surface. Today we take a look at another long Turf race in glorious Southern California.

Del Mar Thoroughbred Club Race 5 {Hollywood Turf Club~G2~1 1/2 mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~Graded Stakes}

An intriguing group of ten will hit the Turf in this annual contest. There is some speed which should dictate a fast pace. Speed numbers are fairly close giving this race a nicely competitive aura. Only one millionaire makes his appearance in here, Itsinthepost [FR]. Our task is to string together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket. It should be a fantastic race.

#10 United (Prat / Mandella) might have the edge with the highest last out speed number and two stout workouts. This lad won over the Del Mar Turf in his only effort over it. He also has the highest speed number at the distance. A son of Giant's Causeway, he should be tracking the pace with his 60% in the money record from ten career starts.

#6 Cleopatra's Strike [ONT] (M. Franco / D'Amato) should challenge with the second highest last out speed number and four powerful workouts. This guy will be stretching out to this distance. He has hit the board at Del Mar in his only start there. A son of Smart Strike, he is another that will be tracking the pace ready to strike. He is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.

We take in a race where the Turf meets the surf as we go long on this Superfecta Sunday.

Del Mar Thoroughbred Club Race 7 {1 3/8 mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~Optional Claiming}

A good group of nine will hit the green in this featured event for regally bred stayers. No speedsters in this one, but a few that like to be forwardly placed may make for a steady pace. Speed numbers are very close making it any horses race. The large majority of these will be stretching out to this "marathon" distance for the first time. Our task is cobble together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket.

#1 Red King (Pereira / D'Amato) should go off as the deserved favorite with the highest last out speed number at the same distance and three endurance building workouts. This lad is 60% in the money at the distance from five starts. Truly, he is the one to beat. A son of English Channel, he should be tracking and closing gallantly.

#7 North County Guy (Gutierrez / Baltas) will be stretching out to this distance with three very good last out speed numbers and four high powered workouts that include three bullets. He enjoys the surface and loves the Del Mar course. A son of The Pamplemousse, he is 65% in the money from twenty career starts. He is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.

Big "A" Stakes Saturday

On this Stakes Saturday we go long on the New York Turf at the "Big "A".

Aqueduct Race 9 {Red Smith Stakes~G3~1 3/8 mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~Graded Stakes}

A splendid field of eleven will hit the New York Turf in this annual feature. There is enough speed to maintain a sound pace for this "marathon" distance. Speed numbers are fairly close with a number of standouts and those still improving. Only one millionaire goes to the gate, the favorite, Sadler's Joy.  It should be a fantastically exciting race.

#7 Sadler's Joy (Castellano / Albertrani) is the favorite with the highest last out speed number, the highest speed number at the distance, and the highest (tie) speed number over the Aqueduct TURF. He has put in four solid workouts in preparation. This millionaire son of Kitten's Joy, is 66% in the money at the distance from nine starts. He should track and close speedily.

#4 Marzo (I. Ortiz / Maker) looks to challenge with the fourth highest last out speed number and two hearty workouts. Let's Sprint on Superfecta Sunday

On this Superfecta Sunday we take in a nice little sprint race down in Southern California.

Del Mar Thoroughbred Club Race 5 {6 Furlongs~3 year-old~Fillies~Claiming}

An interesting group of seven gals will go to the gate in this mid-level claiming event. There is enough speed to keep the pace honest. Speed numbers seem to be very close. Our task is to wire together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket. It should be a good race.

#2 Super Klaus (A. Espinoza / V. Garcia) might have a slight edge with a strong pace up front. She holds the third highest last out speed number at a route and two solid workouts. A daughter of Flashback, she is 62% in the money from eight career starts. She is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.

#6 Nomizar (T. Baze / Hanson) should challenge with the fourth highest (tie) last out speed number and three strong workouts. This gal enjoys the surface and distance notching a win over the Del Mar dirt. A daughter of Tapizar, she is 66% in the money at the distance from three starts. Should be forwardly placed.

#7 Portal Creek (Valdivia / Sadler) will contend as a possible favorite with the third highest last out speed number and four superb peaking workouts. This gal is another with strong efforts at the distance hitting the board 60% of the time. A daughter of Shanghai Bobby, she will be near the front end.

#1 Time for Suzzie (Diaz / Cerin) should be in the mix with the highest last out speed number and three sound workouts. She also has an affinity for the distance with a 72% in the money record from seven starts at six furlongs. A daughter of Time to get Even, she should be tracking ready to strike in the stretch.

While we had the winner, we failed in our $1 Saturday Exacta Wheel effort.

Stakes Saturday Down in Kentucky

Feels like Winter, but it is still Fall as we seek out some Turf on this Stakes Saturday. Alas, down Kentucky way we find some cherished Turf.

Churchill Downs Race 10 {River City Handicap~G3~1 1/8 mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~graded Stakes}

A quality group of ten will hit the green in this annual contest. Short on speed with most coming in as trackers and/or closers. Speed numbers are very close making this race truly competitive. It should be an excellent race.

#4 Mr. Misunderstood (Geroux / B. Cox) might have the edge with the highest speed number at the distance and four outstanding works coming into the race. He loves the surface, distance and Churchill course. A son of Archarcharch, he should be tracking closely ready to pounce. Second best in the money performer at 72% from twenty-five career starts.

#9 Admission Office (J. Ortiz / Lynch) will pose a significant challenge with the highest last out speed number and four superb workouts. This lad holds the highest in the money performance of 87% from eight career starts. A son of Point of Entry, he is another that relishes the surface, distance, and Churchill. Look for him to close gallantly.

A Sprinty Superfecta Sunday

On this Superfecta Sunday we take in a nice stakes sprint in Southern California.

Del Mar Race 8 {Desi Arnaz Stakes~6 1/2 Furlongs~2 year-old~Fillies~Stakes}

A small field of six will saunter to the gate in this annual affair. There is plenty of speed to produce a hot pace. Speed numbers are fairly close for these youngsters. They have all been working diligently to establish a good base for their coming three year-old season. Our task is to weave together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket.

#6 Stellar Sound (Van Dyke / Baffert) looks to be in tip-top form coming out of a slightly longer sprint with the second highest speed number. She has put in four superb peaking workouts in a brief layoff. A daughter of Tapit, she should be tracking the pace-setters. Fresh and ready, she is our Bronze Horseshoe selection. She should kick it home brilliantly given the sizzling pace that should unfold.

#5 Orquidias Biz (M. Smith / Mullins) should be coming into it with her maiden win last out over a Turf surface. This gal has produced two hearty workouts during the last thirty days. #3 Roadrunners Honor (Bejarano / O'Neill) will be making her second career start after winning her maiden last out. She produced the third highest last out speed number and has put in two quality workouts. A daughter of Honor Code, she should be forwardly placed ready for battle on the front end.

#4 Leucothoa (Cedillo / P. Miller) should be the favorite with an outstanding speed figure last out and two strong workouts. This gal should be part of the speed contingent on the front end, dueling for position. A daughter of Midshipman, she is one of two that have already won twice.

Stakes Saturday in New York

Back in action on this glorious Stakes Saturday.

A robust field of nine will hit the green in this annual event. There is an abundance of speed which should make for a sizzling pace. Only one,Voodoo Song, has raced over the Aqueduct Turf. Speed numbers are very close. It should be one of the best races on the day.

#1 Frontier Market (I. Ortiz / C. Brown) might have the edge having never been off the board in six starts at this very distance. He holds the second highest (tie) last out speed number and four efficient workouts. A son of Lemon Drop Kid, he is an outstanding 90% in the money from eleven career starts. Expect him to close them down.

Superfecta Sunday in Gotham

On this Superfecta Sunday we take in a wonderful Turf race in the Big Apple.

Belmont Park Race 9 {Athenia~G3~1 1/16 mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~Fillies/Mares~Graded Stakes}

A great group of nine equine ladies will hit the grass in this Turf stakes. There is enough speed for an honest pace to develop giving them all a chance to bring home the purse. only three have yet to travel over the Belmont Turf. Speed figs are very, very close making it a highly competitive event. Our task is to knit together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket. It should be a great race in Gotham.

#1 Simply Breathless [GB] (Rosario / Drysdale) is the one to beat with the second highest (tie) last out speed number and three tremendous workouts. She has already notched a win at this distance. This gal is highly consistent having hit the board in her last three. A daughter of Bated Breath [GB], she is 82% in the money from seventeen starts.

#9 Xenobia [IRE] (J. Velazquez / Thomas) should be ready for the challenge earning the third highest last out speed number at a longer route and securing two sharp workouts in preparation for this race. Stakes Saturday at Beautiful Keeneland

Beautiful Keeneland is the place for tremendous horse racing on this Stakes Saturday.

A supremely successful field of ten young ladies will go to the gate in this annual affair. There is enough speed to keep the pace rolling. Speed numbers are very close making this race highly competitive. Half the field is making their first start over the Keeneland track. It should be a thrilling race.

#11 Irish Mischief (M. Smith / B. Cox) might have the edge with three good last out speed numbers and two efficient workouts. This gal should be forwardly placed full of run. Long on the Turf for Superfecta Sunday

We celebrate our Superfecta Sunday by going long on the Turf in always intriguing New York.

Belmont Park Race 7 {Point of Entry Stakes~1 1/2 mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~Stakes}

Another short field of seven quality horses will go to the green. There is some speed to keep an honest pace. Speed numbers are very close among these lads. All but one have experience over the Belmont course. Our task is to tack together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta Box ticket. It should be another exciting race.

#5 Pillar Mountain [IRE] comes in off a nice rest after running in a grade three. He holds the fourth highest last out speed number and has put together two good workouts. He also holds the third highest speed number at the distance. A son of Kodiac [GB], he is 62% in the money from eight career starts. Expect him to close with a rush. He is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.

#3 Red Knight (Alvarado / Mott) will challenge with the highest speed number at the distance, the second highest last out speed number,  and two efficient workouts. This lad loves to go long. Stakes Saturday Up North

On this Stakes Saturday we take in a nice long graded Turf race in Canada.

Woodbine Race 9 {Canadian International~G1~1 1/2 mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~Graded Stakes}

A short quality field of six will hit the Turf in this annual contest. There is enough speed to keep the pace rolling. Speed numbers/ratings are fairly close. We are not fans of short fields, but this race is one of the premiere Turf races of the Fall season. It should be a very good one.

#4 Desert Encounter [IRE] (Atzeni / Simcock) has all the tools to pull off the victory. He has won his last three races over in Great Britain and comes in here to defend his title in this race. He holds the highest speed number at this distance and the highest last out rating. A son of Halling, he is 73% in the money from thirty starts. This lad should be forwardly placed and strike in the stretch.

Superfecta Sunday at Santa Anita

Nestled in the San Gabriel Mountains, we take a look at a fantastic Turf sprint at the "Great Race Place".

Santa Anita Park Race 6 {Speakeasy Stakes~5 Furlongs~TURF~2 year-old~Stakes}

Speakeasy, a fitting name for a number of these lads in this group of eleven. There is a plethora of speed which should make the pace very fast. Speed numbers are fairly close making the race super competitive. None of these young colts have ever raced over the Santa Anita Turf. Only a few have even raced over Turf which should make it all the more intriguing. Our task is to distill a winning 10 CENT box Superfecta ticket.

#8 Square Deal (Prat / Callaghan) appears ready to make it three wins in a row as he makes the switch from dirt to Turf. He holds two very good last out speed numbers and three superlative peaking workouts. A son of Square Eddie, he can sit off the steamy pace and launch into the stretch.

#2 Alfie Solomons (V. Espinoza / W. Ward) Lives!! (fans of the great Netflix show, Peaky Blinders, know what that means). This colt is coming in fresh off a brief layoff after winning first out at the tough and tumble Kentucky Downs course. He is coming down a bit in distance and should show his speed from the opening gate. A son of Kantharos, he could wire this field. He is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.

#6 Ginbilli (Van Dyke / Baltas) has the tactical speed to engage as the pace develops. This lad holds the fourth highest last out speed number at a little longer dirt sprint and four powerful peaking workouts. A son of Munnings, he should take to the turf well.

#3 Commander [FR] (Cedillo / D'Amato) looks to improve after competing in a mile route race last out. He has banked two wins over the Turf competing in France. This guy has put in three superb workouts in preparation. A son of War Command, he should track the pace closely and strike in the stretch.
