Superfecta Sunday FoY

It's Superfecta Sunday peering in on the Fountain of Youth Stakes at glorious Gulfstream Park.

Gulfstream Park Race 11 {Fasig-Tipton Fountain of Youth~G2~1 1/16 mile~3 year old~Stakes}
A field of eight exceptionally talented Triple Crown nominees will launch off in this serious Kentucky Derby prep race.  Only five of the eight have gone this distance.  Most will be seeking graded earnings to make it to the big prance.  We think it will require 250k (USD) in order to stand in the gate at KD138.  There are three in the race that might be on everyone's 10 CENT Superfecta Box ticket, its the fourth horse that will make it tricky.

#7 Union Rags (Leparoux / Matz) should be the favorite coming off a ninety day layoff.  He holds the third highest last out speed number, the highest speed number at the distance, a two race progression, and four fabulous workouts.  While this guy already has more than ample graded stakes earnings to have a gate spot in the Kentucky Derby.  Why not a strong closing effort for more?

#2 Algorithms (Castellano / Pletcher) will certainly share favoritism with the above as he holds the highest last out speed number (a triple digit), a nice three race progression, and two modest workouts.  He should be forwardly placed ready to cruise at top speed in the stretch.

#5 Discreet Dancer (J. Velazquez / Pletcher) will control the pace on the lead hoping to hold off challengers.  He will be stretching out to a longer route with the second highest last out speed number and three fierce workouts.  We toss the bronze horseshoe to him this week.
$2 SHOW.

#4 Casual Trick (Nakatani / Zito) will be the fourth runner on our ticket.  Trainer, Nick Zito, always has his horses ready for big races.  This guy is no exception with the second highest speed number at the distance and two robust workouts.  Watch him press the pace comfortably and run on into the stretch.

10 CENT Superfecta Box ($2.40)

#7 Union Rags  +  #2 Algorithms  +  #5 Discreet Dancer  +  #4 Casual Trick.

#3 The Factor (M. Garcia / Baffert) could control the pace and ultimately wire the field with the second highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and five super strong, peaking workouts.  He is three for three at this distance.

Oaklawn Park Race 8 {6 furlongs~4 year old Up~Allowance}
A great dirt sprint shapes up with ten going to the gate.  Lots of runners coming off layoffs in this contest.  The race appears to be evenly divided between those that motor on the front end and those coming off the pace.  It could be an exciting one.
