 Del Mar opened up yesterday. Today we take in a great Stakes race at a mile over the Turf.

Del Mar Thoroughbred Club Race 9 {Wickerr Stakes~1 mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~Stakes}

A solid group of eleven will hit the grass in this annual event.

There is plenty of speed to create a strong pace. Speed numbers are very close. All of these horses have raced over the Del Mar surface. More than half the field raced in a graded stakes race last out. It should be a fine summer battle over the Turf.
