Spring into the Season on Stakes Saturday

 We are heading into the Derby season with a look at a Kentucky Derby prep race down in Oklahoma.

Remington Park Race 12 {Remington Springboard Mile~1 mile~2 year-old~Stakes}

A great group of nine will go to the gate in this annual Derby prep race.

There is plenty of speedy and forwardly placed types to get this one rolling fast. All of these colts and one gelding will be seeking Kentucky Derby points. Speed numbers are fairly close making it very competitive. It should be a fantastic race to cap off a terrific day of racing.

Back to Turfway for Superfecta Sunday

 On this fine Superfecta Sunday we look in on a wonderful stakes race over the Tapeta down Kentucky way.

Turfway Park Race 7 {My Charmer Stakes~1 1/16 mile~3 year-old Up~Fillies/Mares~Stakes}

A talented field of twelve will go to the gate in this featured race.

There is plenty of speed in this race to give a quick pace. Speed numbers are fairly close giving it a nice competitive feel.  Only four have competed over the Turfway oval. A couple will switch from Turf to Tapeta, while one will make the transition from dirt to Tapeta. All have trained will for the event. It should be a fantastic race.

Stakes Saturday at Turfway

 Heading into the winter season there is one Track that usually has bountiful fields. Turfway Park is our virtual destination on this Stakes Saturday as we view a large field in a Stakes sprint.

Turfway Park Race 7 {Holiday Inaugural Stakes~6 Furlongs~3 year-old Up~Fillies and Mares~Stakes}

A fine field of twelve will strut to the gate in this sprint over the Tapeta surface.

Past Performances used:  Equibase.

There is plenty of speed in this race. Speed numbers are very close reflecting a competitive race. Only three have not raced over the synthetic contrasting that with only four that have raced at Turfway. Pedigrees suggest that all will like the surface. It should be a great race to wager and watch.

#2 Dynasty of her Own (McKee / Beatie) comes in from Presque Isle Downs where she won her last at the same distance. Throw in two strong workouts in the last thirty days and she should race well enough for a victory. This gal relishes the surface and the distance. Look for her to battle convincingly in the front pack. A daughter of Shanghai Bobby, she is 63% in the money from twenty-seven career starts.

Superfecta Sunday on Louisville Turf

 We are looking at a excellent Turf contest down in Louisville on this Superfecta Sunday.

Churchill Downs Race 11 {Commonwealth Turf Stakes~G3~1 1/16 mile~Turf~3-year-old~Graded Stakes}

An equally talented field of eleven will race on the green in this topflight graded stake race.

Any one of these entrants have the capability to win this race. There is plenty of speed to keep the pace humming. Speed figs are exceptionally close making it super competitive. This will be one of the best races of the day.

Fair Grounds is Open in NOLA

 Fair Grounds has opened, and we look forward to a long and hopefully, profitable meet. On this Stakes Saturday we look in on a smashing sprint race for the Louisiana bred lads.

Fair Grounds Race 8 {Monte Man Stakes~6 Furlongs~3 year-old Up~LA~Stakes}

A good group of ten will go to the gate in this Louisiana stakes race.

There is a ferocious amount of speed in this one. Speed figs are fairly close making this race competitive. Only three have not yet raced over the Fair Grounds track. All are well prepped for the start of the Fair Grounds season. It should be an exciting race.
