Stakes Saturday In Sunny California

There is no better combination than sunshine and horses. Today we take at a great Stakes race on the Turf.

Del Mar {La Jolla~G3~1 1/16 mile~TURF~3 year-old~Graded Stakes}

A very talented group of ten will take to the turf in this annual contest. There is enough speed to insure an honest pace. Speed numbers are fairly close reflection a serious competitiveness. There are four Triple Crown nominees in this race. It should be one of the better stakes races on the day.

#3 Moonlight Drive [ITY] (Prat / Baffert) looks to improve on the stretch out with the third highest (tie) last out speed number and three hearty workouts. This lad has earned the highest overall in the money record at 85% of this group. A son of Red Rocks [IRE], he should be tracking the pace ready to strike.
$2 WIN  /  $3 PLACE  /  $5 SHOW.

#2 Liam the Charmer (Gonzalez / McCarthy) should challenge with the fourth highest (tie) last out speed number at a longer route, a four race progression, and three salty workouts.
This guy will be going this distance for the first time. A son of Smart Strike, he should track and close gallantly.
$3 SHOW.

#7 Burger and Fries [FR] (Van Dyke / Gallagher) will be making his first North American Start after racing competitively on French soil. He is coming out of a Group three in which he placed fifth at a much longer route. This distance should suit him just fine in his new California surroundings. A son of Sageburg [IRE], he will be fresh off a modest layoff.
$2 SHOW.

Another Wagering Interest

#4 Dressed in Hermes (Desormeaux / Armstrong) should contend sharing the fourth highest last out speed number, working a two race progression, and putting in a superb peaking workout tab. Ready to race, this son of Hat Trick [JPN] hast the tactical speed to motor through the pace into the stretch run.
