Stakes Saturday at Magnificent Keeneland

A beautiful Spring day across the country and we look in those equines racing in Kentucky.

Keeneland Race 10 {Toyota Bluegrass Stakes~G2~1 1/8 mile~3 year-old~Graded Stakes}

A high quality field of seven will go to the gate in this annual Kentucky Derby prep race. There is a little speed to keep things moving efficiently. Speed numbers are fairly close for these talented horses. It should be one of the better Derby preps today as we close in on that first Saturday in May.

#4 Tapwrit (J. Ortiz / Pletcher) looks to have the advantage with the second highest last out speed number, a five race progression, and one solid workout. He should be tracking the pace closely ready to spring into the stretch. A son of Tapit, he comes up from Tampa Bay Downs.
$1 WIN  /  $2 PLACE  /  $3 SHOW.

#3 J Boys Echo (Albarado / Romans) should challenge with the highest last out speed number; the only triple digit in the field. He shows a three race progression and three superb workouts. This son of Mineshaft has already notched a victory at Keeneland and will relish this distance.
$1 PLACE  /  $2 SHOW.

#1 Its Your Nickel (Graham / McPeek) could surprise with a couple of decent last out speed numbers, a four race progression and three hearty workouts. He has already posted three wins from four starts and continues show improvement. A son of Dialed In, he is another that will track and close determinedly.
$1 SHOW.

Another Wagering Interest

#2 McCraken (B. Hernandez / Wilkes) has nothing to prove as he has already earned a spot in KD 143. There is no question he will run a fine race, but he will be looking to peak on Derby day. He holds the third highest last out speed number, a four race progression, and four excellent peaking workouts. A son of Ghostzapper, he should be turning for home with the quickening gang.

10 CENT Superfecta

#4 Tapwrit  /  #3 J Boys Echo  /  #1 Its Your Nickel, #2 McCraken  /  ALL.

Last Superfecta Sunday (4/2) Results
Fair Grounds Race Course R12.  Maiden Claiming.  We misfired on our 10 CENT Superfecta box play as one of our horses, Honest Oath, was declared a non-starter. Superfecta went 10-3-1-8.
Our Bronze Horseshoe runner, Noisey Boy, finished 2nd for show money of 1.05.
Bankroll gains a nickel to close at $41.24.
