Superfecta Sunday at Santa Anita

We take in a nice Stakes race for our Superfecta Sunday.

Santa Anita Park Race 8 {Comma to the Top~1 mile~3 year-old Up~Stakes}

A reduced field of six will go to the gate in this feature race. A short field like this is not necessarily a handicapper's best option, but we will go forward with our effort. There is enough pace to maintain a solid pace. Speed figs are relatively close which gives it a good competitive feel. Our task is to hack together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket.

#7 Battle of Midway (Prat / Hollendorfer) is the class of the field and should meet with his favoritism's expectation. He holds the highest last out speed number and has put in four stellar workouts during a brief freshening. This guy loves the Santa Anita track hitting the board in all of his five runs on it. A millionaire son of Smart Strike, he should get the pace to come a runnin'.

#3 Roman Rosso [ARG] (Talamo / Baffert) should challenge with the third highest last out speed number at a longer route and four superb stamina producing workouts. He will be making his second North American start seeking his sixth career win. A son of Roman Ruler, he should track the pace and strike in the stretch. He is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.
$3 SHOW.

#1 Tatters to Riches (T. Baze / Mullins) will contend with the second highest last out speed number and three robust workouts. This guy has the tactical speed to stay close to the pace and get first jump and the others heading into the stretch. He has a win at this distance in his only effort at the mile. A son of Union Rags, he should relish the Santa Anita dirt.

#4 St. Joe Bay (Van Dyke / Sadler) should be in the mix from the opening gate. He holds the third highest speed number at the distance along with an 83% in the money record from six tries. He also loves the Santa Anita track having hit the board nine of eleven times. A son of Saint Anddan, he should show speed.
