Stakes Saturday in South Florida

KD 145 points are on the line as we take in a great stakes race down in South Florida.

Gulfstream Park Race 11 {Holy Bull~G2~1 1/16 mile~3 year-old~Graded Stakes}

A fantastic field of nine will go to the gate with Kentucky Derby points on the line. There is a plethora of speed which should produce a sizzling pace on a fast track. Speed numbers are widely varied as is the case as these horses launch their three year-old season. Many have sound potential and may find their way into the gate on that first Saturday in May. It should be a very exciting race.

#8 Maximus Mischief (J. Ortiz / Reid) will be the odds on favorite and deservedly so. This guy has rattled of three wins from his three career starts with speed numbers in the nineties much better than all the rest. It is his race to win as he cuts back from a longer route and puts in three superb peaking workouts. A son of Into Mischief, expect him to be part of the pace scenario.
$1 WIN  (not a lot of value on this one).

#6 Mihos (Velazquez / Jerkens) should challenge seeking to get his third win in a row. He holds the second highest last out speed number and three strong peaking workouts. This lad should benefit greatly from a frothy pace. A son of Cairo Prince, he has already cruised to victory over the Gulfstream track.
$2 PLACE  / $3 SHOW.

#3 Epic Dreamer (I. Ortiz / Breen) should contend after a disappointing effort down in Texas. He holds the highest (tie) speed number at this distance and has put in three fabulous peaking workouts. A son of Kentucky Derby winner, Orb, he could be right in the thick of it from the opening gate.
$2 SHOW.

#2 Federal Case (Castellano / Pletcher) should be in the mix with the third highest last out speed number and three fantastic peaking workouts. He has won in both of his starts and will be stretching out for this race. A son of Gemologist, he should sit close to the pace waiting for an opening.
