LA Champions Day in the Big Easy

 Another great Saturday filled with competitive stakes races around the country. We look in on the Louisiana breds down in the Big Easy.

A reduced field of eleven will go the the grass in this annual event.

This competitive field will have enough speed to produce an honest pace on the Fair Grounds Turf course. Speed numbers are fairly close. All, but two have gone this distance. Same for traveling over the Fair Grounds course. It should be a great race.

#3 Carleas Dream (R. Gutierrez / Jacks) has already notched three wins at this distance from four tries. This lad shows the highest last out speed number and one bullet workout. This guy should track the pace closely and get first jump on the leaders. A gelded son of Lea, he is 72% in the money from eighteen career starts.

#12 Jael's Royalty (D. Carroll / Harrison) looks primed for an excellent effort with the third highest last out speed number and three strong workouts. He should track the pace ready to strike in the stretch. A son of Royal Strand [IRE], he is 54% in the money from eleven career starts.

#9 Im a Cowboy Too (Murrill / G. Scherer) looks for his eighth career win with three decent last out speed numbers and four superb peaking workouts. This gelding holds the highest (tie) speed number at this very distance. Look for him to part of the tracking herd ready to make his move. A son of Cowboy Cal, he is 43% in the money from forty-eight career starts.
