Stakes Saturday at Monmouth Park

 We journey (virtually, of course) to the Jersey shore for some fine racing. On this Stakes Saturday we look in on a fantastic dirt mile.

Monmouth Park Race 12 {Salvator Mile~G3~1 mile~3 year-old Up~Graded Stakes}

The field has been whittled down to eight milers.

Past Performances used:  Equibase.

This race has plenty of speed to produce a swift pace. Speed figs are very close with the entire field hitting at least one triple digit in their lifetimes. All will be hitting the Monmouth track for the first time. It should be a great race.

#8 Nimitz Class (Toledo / Kravets) comes in from Parx looking for his sixth win in a row. He should be forwardly placed ready to battle for position. This guy holds the highest (tie) last out speed number. He looks ready and able. A son of Arrogate, he is 68% in the money from sixteen career starts.

$1 WIN  /  $2 PLACE  /  $3 SHOW.

#6 Octane (Rendon / C. David) comes up from Gulfstream Park sharing the highest last out speed number and two solid peaking workouts. He is another that should be forwardly placed. This guy shows improving speed figs in his last three races. A son of Brethren, he is 77% in the money from thirteen career starts.

$1 PLACE  /  $2 SHOW.

#9 Artorius (Geroux / C. Brown) last raced at Keeneland. He holds the fourth highest last out speed number and four diligent workouts. A modest layoff makes him fresh for a good run. He will track the leaders and strike in the stretch. A son of Arrogate, he is 60% in the money from five career starts.

$2 SHOW.

#1 Petulante (L. Saez / Barboza) comes in from Churchill downs with a streak of two wins. Look for him to speed away from the gate. He loves the surface and distance. This lad holds the third highest last out speed number and three superb peaking workouts. A son of Arrogate, he is 100% in the money from five career starts.

$1 SHOW.
