Going Long on the Turf along the Jersey Shore

 Off we go to one of the Premiere North American tracks to wager and watch on a grade one Turf race along the Jersey shore.

Monmouth Park Race 11 {United Nations~G1~1 3/8 mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~Graded Stakes}

A very competitive field of nine will hit the grass in this annual contest.

Past Performances used:  Equibase.

There is some speed to get the pace rolling, but we can expect a Euro-style quickening as they head into the stretch. Speed numbers are fairly close. Only three in the field have gone this exact distance, with a few having gone longer coming into the race. It should be a spectacular race.

#5 Limited Liability (J. Velazquez / McGaughey) comes in off a longer Turf race where he earned the fourth highest last out speed number and four super strong peaking workouts. He will be part of the tracker crew which dominated the field. A son of Kitten's Joy, he is 80% in the money from ten career starts.

$1 WIN  /  $2  PLACE  /  $3 SHOW.

#9 Red Knight (Gaffalione / Maker) will show his experience at this distance and pose a mighty challenge. He holds the highest last out speed number and three fierce workouts. This nine year-old gelding will be running late. A son of Pure Prize, he is 62% in the money from thirty-five career starts.

$1 PLACE  /  $2 SHOW.

#6 Planetario [BRZ] (M. Smith / Mandella) comes in from California to battle this hard knocking crew. He holds a good last out speed number and three strengthening workouts. This lad will be part of the tracker posse. A son of Il Doge [BRZ], he is 63% in the money from eleven career starts.

$2 SHOW.

#7 Yamato (L. Saez / Maker) will be cutting back in distance with a solid last out speed number and one powerful bullet workout. Another tracker looking to fight when the true racing begins. A six year-old gelded son of Artie Schiller, he is 59% in the money from twenty-seven starts.

$1 SHOW.
