A Del Mar Superfecta Sunday

 On this Superfecta Sunday we take a look at the lucky last where the Turf meets the Surf at Old Del Mar.

Del Mar Thoroughbred Club Race 9 {1 mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~CA~Maiden Special Weight}

A great group of ten Cal breds will hit the grass in this lucky last race on the card.

There is enough speed in this race to produce an honest race. Only three have yet to run over the Del Mar course. Speed numbers are very close which should trigger a competitive race. One first time starter makes an appearance in the field. It should be a fine race to cap off the horse racing weekend.

#11 Toppers Wager (Torrealba / Polanco) appears to be sitting on a significant performance with the second highest (tie) last out speed number at a longer route and three stout workouts. This lad should track the pace closely and strike in the stretch. A son of Graven, he is seeking to hit the board for the first time.

#1 Touchdown Kittle (Rispoli / Papaprodromou) also holds the second highest last out speed number at a longer route and one superb workou. He is another that will be expected to track the pace closely. A son of Tiznow, he is 50% in the money from four starts.

#7 Ghostly Act (Frey / Winnick) has hit the board twice in three tries at this distance. He has the tactical speed to feel out the pace. This gelding produced a decent last out speed number and two sound workouts. A son of Acclamation, he is 55% in the money from nine starts.

#9 Dark Marcus (Herrera / P. Miller) holds the highest last out speed number at a longer route and two sharp peaking workouts. Expect him to track and close into the pace. A son of Declaration of War, he is 53% in the money from fifteen starts.

#8 Antibes (G. Franco / Gaines) will stretch out with a couple of good peaking workouts. A son of Smiling Tiger, he is 50% in the money from two starts.

#3 Sea Breeze Boy (Maldonaldo / Eurton) will also stretch out and switch surfaces in his third race. A son of Jeranimo, he looks posied to hit the board.
