An intriguing field will battle over the Tapeta. There is plenty of speedsters and forwardly placed types to create a very fast pace. Only a couple will be trying the Tapeta for the first time. One of those will be the only one stretching out to this distance. It should be a very good race on a great day of racing.

#5 Copper Missile (Machado / Sims) is the deserved morning line favorite. He holds the second highest last out speed number and one bullet workout. He has hit the board in all four of his starts at this distance. Expect him to track and close into a fast pace. A son of Copper Bullet, he is 36% in the money from eleven starts.

#9 Memphis Pharoah (G. Saez / Waltz) comes in with the highest last out speed number and one solid workout. He could be the speed of the field. This guy relishes the Tapeta, distance, and track. A son of American Pharoah, he is 27% in the money from eleven starts.

#3 Anglican (Sanjur / Contreras) comes in with the third highest last out speed number and three strong peaking workouts. This guy has improved his speed figs in each of his last three starts. Look for him to track and close into a swift pace. A son of English Channel, he is 42% in the money from seven starts.

#10 Publius (Ramos / Foster) has doubled up on his speed fig in the last two races. He is another tracker/closer looking for a strong pace. This guy is well prepped with two hearty peaking workouts. A son of Constitution, he is 55% in the money from nine starts.

#6 Atlantic Dancer (Moncada / J. Cook) drops in with a decent speed fig at a longer route. This guy will be closing into a solid pace. He will be making the surface switch from dirt to Tapeta. Another son of American Pharoah, he is 40% in the money from twenty starts.

#8 Bebedouro (Ashton / Tomlinson) will also be trying the Tapeta surface for the first time and stretching out to the mile distance. He is another that has repeated on his two last speed figs.
