Superfecta Sunday in Arkansas

 We take in the lucky last at Oaklawn on our Superfecta Sunday.

Oaklawn Park Race 10 {1 1/16 mile~3 year-old Up~Maiden Claiming}

A nice full field of twelve are expected to go to the gate in this dirt route for the maidens.

This one has sufficient speed to produce an honest pace. Speed figures are fairly close for these lads. Only three have yet to race at this distance. All have competed over the Oaklawn track. It should be a great race to wager and watch.

#7 Rocket Night (W. De la Cruz / Cravens) could finally get it done as the most experienced runner of this group. He holds the third highest (tie) last out speed number and one sound workout. This guy should track the pace closely and sprout in the stretch. A son of Quality Road, he is 46% in the money from fifteen starts.

#12 Chou Chou d Aven (Leparoux / McPeek) will be part of the pace crew on the front-end. He holds the highest last out speed number and one solid workout. This colt loves the dirt, distance, and track. A son of Almanzor [FR], he is 50% in the money from six starts.

#3 Devils Fork (C. Torres / J.A. Ortiz) comes in with the second highest last out speed number and one superb workout. He should track the pace ready to strike in the stretch. This lad has improved his speed fig in each of his last four races. A son of Double Irish, he is looking to crack the board in his sixth start.

#1 Crabtree (Bejarano / Moquett) is looking to improve in his eighth start. He does hold the third highest (tie) speed number at the distance. This guy should be part of the tracker crew. A son of Tapiture, he will try to hit the board for the first time.

Stakes Saturday in Gotham

 We go to New York for a Kentucky Derby points race at grand old Aqueduct.

Aqueduct Race 8 {Gotham Stakes~G3~1 mile~3 year-old~Graded Stakes}

A reduced field of eight will go to the gate in this annual Kentucky Derby points race.

Past Performances used:  Equibase.

There is enough speed in this one to create a fast pace. Four will be stretching out to this distance. Only four have raced over the Aqueduct track. Speed figs are fairly close even though most in here are lightly raced. Six entrants are Triple Crown nominees. It should be a fantastic race on a Stakes Saturday with a number of great races across the country.

#3 Calling Card (Carmouche / Maker) has been well prepped for this race coming off a longer route and putting in four superb works. He will track the pace and should benefit from a strong one. This guy loves the distance and the track. A son of Complexity, he is 60% in the money from five starts.

#5 Sand Devil (Lezcano / L. Rice) is the morning line favorite with the highest last out speed number. He is the only one in the field to have a triple digit speed fig. This lad should be part of the speed scenario seeking his fourth win in a row. All his wins have come over the Aqueduct track. A son of Violence, he has a 100% win rate from three starts.

#4 Sacrosanct (Franco / B. Cox) will also be part of the speed on the front-end. He holds the third highest (tie) last out speed number and three solid workouts. This colt will be seeking his fifth win in a row. He is another with three wins over the Aqueduct track. A son of Honest Mischief, he holds a win rate of 100% from four starts.
