Stakes Saturday on the Florida Dirt

On this Stakes Saturday we take a look at the feature graded stakes race on the dirt in South Florida.

Gulfstream Park Race 5 {Harlan's Holiday~G3~1 1/16 mile~3 year-old Up}

We have a short field of six in this one. Such as it is during the winter meets. There is truly one standout in the race, Audible, and relative parity among the rest as they battle for the remaining purse pie. Among the battlers, the speed figs are fairly close giving it a really competitive feel for these lads to hit the board. In a change to our favored exotic wager we will make an effort with the Trifecta.

#1 Audible (Castellano / Pletcher) is the one to beat. This year's Florida Derby winner (3rd in the Kentucky Derby), appears to be in fine form. He won last out earning the highest speed fig among this group and has put in three superb peaking workouts. This millionaire son of Into Mischief is undefeated at the distance and over the Gulfstream Park track. We will make a token win bet on this champion.
$1 WIN.

#4 Village King [ARG] (J. Velazquez / Pletcher) is in great form and should be part of the pace scenario. This guy holds the second highest last out speed number at a longer route and one stout workout. A son of Campanologist, he comes in from the NYRA racing circuit.
$1 SHOW.

#6 Sir Anthony (B. Hernandez / Mitchell) comes in from the Chicago racing circuit with three wins in a row including the Bruce D. on Arlington Million Day. He holds the third highest speed number at the distance and one solid workout. This son of Mineshaft should be closing swiftly with the right pace in front of him.
$2 SHOW.

#3 Sightforsoreeyes (Jimenez / Quartarolo) comes in from the Kentucky racing circuit with the second highest speed number at the distance and two tough workouts. A son of Sightseeing, he should also be part of the pace scenario. Look for him to put his tactical speed to good use.

50 CENT Trifecta

#1 Audible  /  #4 Village King [ARG], #6 Sir Anthony  /  #4, #6, #3 Sightforsoreeyes.
