Stakes Saturday at the "Big A"

Off we go on this Stakes Saturday to view a grade one in wonderful New York.

Aqueduct Race 10 {Cigar Mile~G1~1 mile~3 year-old Up~Graded Stakes}

A super competitive field of ten will go to the gate in this annual race. There is enough speed to develop an honest pace. Speed numbers are highly reflective of a contentious race. It should be one of the more exciting races on the day.

#7 Connect (Castellano / C. Brown) might have the edge with the second highest last out speed number at a longer route, a two race progression, and four sensational workouts. This lad has the tactical speed to stay the course no matter what type of pace develops. A son of Curlin, this will be his first start at the mile distance.
$1 WIN  /  $2 PLACE  /  $3 SHOW.

#1 Anchor Down (J. Ortiz / Pletcher) will pose a mighty challenge with the highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and two fine workouts. He should show speed on the front end with a couple of others. This guy relishes the distance and enjoys the "Big A" track. A son of Tapit, he also holds the highest speed at this mile distance.
$1 PLACE  /  $2 SHOW.

#10 Divining Rod (Centeno / Delacour) will contend with the fourth highest last out speed number at a longer route, a two race progression, and two strong workouts. He is undefeated at this distance from three starts. Another son of Tapit, he should fine a sweet spot close to the pace and rally in the stretch.
$1 SHOW.

Another Wagering Interest

#3 Realm (P. Lopez / Tagg) could be in the mix with a couple of very good last out speed numbers, a three race progression, and two superb peaking workouts. This guy loves the distance and the Aqueduct track. Another improvement could be in the offing. A son of Haynesfield, he should be tracking the pace closely ready to spring into the stretch.

10 CENT Superfecta

#7 Connect  /  #1 Anchor Down  /  #10 Divining Rod  /  #3 Realm.
