Twilight Stakes Saturday

Evening racing in the shadow of the Twin Spires is on tap for this Stakes Saturday.

Churchill Downs Race 8 {Stephen Foster Handicap~G1~1 1/8 mile~3 year-old Up~Graded Stakes}

A great group of eight will go to the gate in this annual contest. There is plenty of speed to keep a swift pace. Nearly all in here will be firing fresh off of modest layoffs. Speed figs are very close giving this race a tremendously competitive feel. Two millionaires make their appearance against a group who have made significant bank. It should be an exciting race under the lights.

#3 Gun Runner (Geroux / Asmussen) may have the edge with the highest last out speed number at a longer route, an eight race progression, and four stellar peaking workouts. A millionaire son of Candy Ride [ARG], he should be very close to the pace ready to spring forward in the stretch.
$2 WIN  /  $3 SHOW.

#2 Breaking Lucky (Contreras / Baker) should challenge with a couple of excellent last out speed figs and two solid workouts. This guy has the tactical speed to stay the course and pounce. A son of Lookin At Lucky, he holds the highest speed number at the distance.
$2 SHOW.

#8 Stanford (J. Velazquez / Pletcher) will contend with the third highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and four superb peaking workouts. He is the other millionaire in the field. A son of Malibu Moon, he should be forwardly placed seeking edge away from the leaders.
$2 SHOW.

Another Wagering Interest

#4 Honorable Duty (Castellano / Walsh) looks to improve over a couple of very good last out speed numbers. He holds the fourth highest speed number at the distance and has put in three solid peaking workouts. A son of Distorted Humor, he should track and close sweetly.
