Yielding TURF for Stakes Saturday

On this Stakes Saturday, the horses take to the yielding Turf in South Florida.

A superior field of ten will take to the Turf in this inaugural big money race. Four millionaires are part of the field as well as three ladies. Speed figs are very close making it anyone's race. There is a couple of speedsters who could take the field through decent early fractions. It could turn into a Euro-style race with a superb quickening heading into the stretch. Be ready for a fantastic race.

#7 Bricks and Mortar (I. Ortiz / C. Brown) looks ready to kick off the year with a stylish win. He holds the highest (three-way tie) last out speed number and three sensational workouts. A son of versatile sire, Giants Causeway, he should be in a tracking position much like the rest of the field. This lad is 100% in the money from seven starts.

#9 Catapult (Rosario / Sadler) should challenge sharing the highest last out speed number and putting in four excellent peaking workouts. He comes in fresh with a reasonable layoff. A son of Kitten's Joy, he too will be tracking the pace. This guy is 68% in the money from sixteen starts.
$1 PLACE  /  $2 SHOW.

#2 Yoshida (J. Ortiz / Mott) will contend also with the highest last out speed number at a longer dirt route and four terrific workouts. He should be tracking and closing with vigor. A millionaire son of Hearts Cry [JPN], he is the most versatile horse in the field winning on Turf and dirt. He is 66% in the money from twelve starts.
$1 SHOW.

#1 Magic Wand [IRE] (Lorden / A O'Brien) is one of three fillies challenging the lads. She holds the second highest last out speed number at a longer Turf route. A sensation across the pond, this will be her second North American start for outstanding world class connections. A daughter of Galileo [IRE], she should hold a strong tracking position ready to launch.

10 CENT Superfecta Box ($2.40)

Santa Anita R8.  Astra--G3.  We missed out on our 10 CENT Superfecta Box capturing three of the four wagering interests required. Superfecta went 10-8-2-5.
Our Bronze Horseshoe runner, Plein Aire [IRE], finished 4th.
Bankroll continues its descent, dipping to $76.11.
