Belmont Stakes 1.125

An unusual Triple Crown season during extraordinary times. On this Stakes Saturday we look in on bountiful Belmont Park to watch and wager on what is normally the third jewel of the Triple Crown.

Belmont Park Race 10 {BELMONT STAKES~G1~1 1/8 mile~3 year-old~Graded Stakes}

An excellent field of ten will go to the gate in this years Belmont Stakes. Raced at a shorter distance of 1.125 miles. During these strange times, it opens up as the first jewel of the Triple Crown. There is plenty of speed to keep the pace flowing. Speed numbers are fairly close among these lads. Half the field has already traveled this distance which sure makes for some potentially improved performances. Interestingly, four of the contestants come in off of two race win streaks. It should be a glorious race.

#8 Tiz the Law (M. Franco / Tagg) will go off as the overwhelming favorite. Deservedly so with the second highest last out speed number and four powerful peaking workouts. He has already won at this distance securing the highest speed number among this group for the distance. One of four coming in off a two race win streak he is 100% in the money from five career starts. A son of Constitution, he should set up a tracking pace and strike in the stretch.
$1 WIN  /  $2 PLACE  /  $3 SHOW.

#10 Pneumatic (Santana / Asmussen) should challenge with the fourth highest last out speed number and three superb peaking workouts. He will be stretching out to the distance with a 100% in the money record from three career starts. A son of Uncle Mo, he should be close to the pace and make his move heading into the stretch.
$1 PLACE  /  $2 SHOW.

#4 Modernist (Alvarado / Mott) will contend with the fourth highest speed number at the distance, having secured two wins at same. He comes out of a longer route with four exceptional workouts. This guy has the tactical speed to feel out the pace and enjoin the battle. Another son of Uncle Mo, he sports an 80% in the money record from five career starts.
$1 SHOW.

#2 Sole Volante (Panici / Biancone) is another that challenge with the third highest last out speed number and two stamina producing workouts. He will stretch out to this distance. This guy is 100% in the money from six career starts. A son of Karakronite [JPN], he should be tracking and closing gallantly.
