Stakes Saturday at Keeneland

We look in on that magnificent track in Lexington, Kentucky, for a great route stakes race.

Keeneland Race 8 {Fayette Stakes~G2~1 1/8 mile~3 year-old Up~Graded Stakes}

A quality field of nine will go to the gate in this annual contest.

Past Performances used:  TimeFormUs

There are a number of forwardly placed types that could turn the pace up at bit from the get-go. Speed numbers among this group are very close making it a competitive event. Only one millionaire makes an appearance in this quality field. Four will be stretching out to this distance for the first time. It should be one of the most exciting races on the day.

#2 Captivating Moon (Leparoux / Block) appears to be in fine form with the fourth highest (tie) last out speed number and three superb peaking workouts. This guy has hit the board once at this distance in his two tries. He should benefit from a quick pace with his tracking style. A son of Malibu Moon, he is 70% in the money from twenty-four career starts.

$1 WIN  /  $2 PLACE  /  $3 SHOW.

#6 Mr. Freeze (Castellano / Romans) should go off as the favorite with the third highest last out speed number and three strong peaking workouts. He also holds the highest speed number at the distance among this group. Look for him to be part of the forwardly placed crew. A son of To Honor and Serve, he is 73% in the money from fifteen career starts.

$1 PLACE  /  $2 SHOW

#5 Title Ready (Lanerie / D. Stewart) is another that looks to be in good form as he stretches out to this distance. He has posted the second highest last out speed number and three fluid peaking workouts. This guy will be tracking the pace. A son of More Than Ready, he is 61% in the money from twenty-one career starts.

$1 SHOW.

#10 Aurelius Maximus (Santana / Asmussen) will be stretching out to this distance with three good last out speed numbers and two stout workouts.
