Let's Go Long on the TURF, Up North

 We go up North (virtually, of course) to take in a long TURF race of the Stakes variety.

Woodbine Race 8 {Niagara Stakes~1 1/4 mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~Stakes}

A very nice field of eleven will hit the grass in this annual event.

There is plenty of speed to roll out a sweet pace. Hall of Fame trainer, Mark Casse has four in this field. There is one filly as well as one Millionaire. Speed figs are fairly close making this one competitive. All have been expertly prepped for this race with the potential for some surprises. It should be a great race on one of the best Turf courses in the world!

#6 British Royalty (P. Husbands / Minshall) comes in tied with the highest last out speed number at a longer route and two superb workouts. He loves the surface and the course. This gelding should race close to the pace. A son of English Channel, he is 38% in the money from thirteen career starts.

#4 Cibolian (D. Carroll / Brisset) holds the fourth highest last out speed number at a much longer route and four strong workouts. This lad can be expected to be part of the tracker pack. He raced last at Belmont Park and will make his first run over the Woodbine course. A son of Temple City, he is 35% in the money from seventeen career starts.

#11 Town Cruise (Fulumoto /  Greer) should show speed coming off a long layoff. He will try this distance for the first time, but has put in four powerful workouts. This seven year-old gelding loves the surface and the course. A son of Town Prize, he is 53% in the money from fifteen career starts.

#3 Mighty Heart (Stein / J. Carroll) is the sole millionaire in this field. He has hit the board in his last two races and has put in two solid workouts in the last thirty days. Look for him to be forwardly placed. A son of Dramedy, he is 68% in the money from nineteen career starts.
