Let's Go Gulfstream on Superfecta Sunday

 As the horse population continues to grow in anticipation of Gulfstream Park's championship season, we look in on a challenging Maiden Claiming race on the Turf.

Gulfstream Park Race 11 {1 1/16 mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~Maiden Claiming}

A full field of twelve will hit the Turf in this lucky last race on the card.

Past Performances used:  Equibase.

There is sufficient speed to produce an honest pace. Speed figs are fairly close making it a competitive race. Only one first time starter makes the gate. Only five have raced over the Gulfstream course. Four will be stretching out ot this distance. It should be a fantastic race.

#5 Franchuchie (P. Lopez / W. Ward) is the first-time starter that is well prepped with three strong workouts including a stellar one over the Turf. Trainer / Jockey statistics are top-line. With most in this field, having a number of tries to break their maiden, this gelding might have the edge. As a son of Noble Mission [GB], his Pedigree is pure Turf.

$2 WIN  /  $3 PLACE  /  $5 SHOW.

#7 Paxton (Camacho / R. Miller) will be making his third career start with two decent last out speed numbers and one peaking workout. He should track the pace. This gelding will be switching from dirt to Turf and stretching out to the distance. A son of Awesome Slew, he should hit the board for the first time.

#10 Remerton (E. Gonzalez / Delgado) he is the deserved favorite having hit the board in all three efforts at the distance and over the Gulfstream course. He comes in with the highest (3-way tie) last out speed number and two sound workouts. This guy should track the pace closely and sprout in the stretch. A son of Kantharos, he is 46% in the money from fifteen starts.

#2 Son of a Slew (Tejos / Deaton) is another coming in with the highest last out speed number and two peasking workouts. This colt will need a strong pace to close into. He drops in class after finishing fourth in his last race. Another son of Awesome Slew, he will attempt to hit the board for the first time.

Other Wagering Interests

#4 Smooth An Easy (Gil / Seyler) comes in with the second highest (tie) last out speed number and one peaking workouts. He will track and close swiftly. This guy is dropping in class. A son of Achikulak, he 16% in the money from twelve starts.

#12 De La Calles (Bravo / Engler) is another coming in witht he second highest last out speed number and one hearty workout. He should track the pace closely and strike in the stretch. A son of Street Sense, he is 20% in the money from five starts.
