Going Very Long on Stakes Saturday

 We go to South Florida for a marathon Turf battle.

Gulfstream Park Race 11 {H. Allen Jerkens Handicap~2 mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~Stakes}

Scratches have reduced this field to nine.

Past Performances used: Equibase.

A good group of Turfers will battle in this long-distance run. It comes up with one speedster who will dictate the pace. The rest of the field can be expected to quicken going into the stretch run. Speed figs are fairly close. Only four have experience at this distance; the rest will stretch out. Only three will race over the Gulfstream course for the first time. It should be a fantastic lucky last to make a play on.

#7 Six Minus (Zayas / Pletcher) could be the one to beat. He holds the highest speed number at the distance. This guy comes in with the third highest speed number at the distance and three sharpening workouts. He will be part of the large tracking crew in this race. A son of English Channel, he is 52% in the money from twenty-five starts.

$2 WIN  /  $3 PLACE  /  $5 SHOW.

#5 Lord Flintshire (R. Guitierrez / Brion) will challenge with the second highest lst out speed number and three strong peaking workouts. This lad hit the board in his only start at the distance. Another tracker that will battle in the stretch run. A son of Flintshire [GB], he is 53% from twenty-six starts.

$2 PLACE  /  $3 SHOW.

#3 Really Good (Bravo  /  Maker) holds the third highest speed number at the distance. He comes in with the fourth highest last out speed number and one sound workout. This lad is a tracker/closer and will engage in the stretch. A son of Hard Spun, he is 53% in the money from seventeen starts.

$2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#8 Utah Beach (Gaffalione / Correas) is now the morning-line favorite with the defection of the overall favorite. He will stretch out to this distance with the highest last out speed number and four power workouts. This guy is another one of the trackers in the field. Another son of English Channel, he is 80% in the money from ten starts.

#11 The Ginger Wizard [IRE] (Diaz / Motion) is another that will stretch out to this distance. He will also be making his second North American start after competing in Ireland. A lightly raced lad, he does love the Turf. Again another tracker in the field. A son of Calyx [GB], he is 60% in the money from five starts.
