 On this last Superfecta Sunday of 2024 we hit another Turf race in Florida.

Tampa Bay Downs Race 6 {1 1/16 mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~Claiming}

A good field of twelve will hit the green in this mid-card feature.

There is plenty of speed to keep a swift pace. Speed figures are fairly close among this group. Only three will attempt the Tampa Bay course for the first time. All have tried this distance a number of times. Should some rain forecast hold off, it should be a fantastic race to handicap and wager.

#3 Smart Striker (Montanez / Pompay) holds the highest last out speed number and three sound workouts. He should track and close gallantly into an honest pace. This gelding has improved his speed figures in each of his last three races. A son of Connect, he is 42% in the money from nineteen starts.

#6 Alasdair (H. Diaz / N. Ramsey) should track the pace closely and strike in the stretch. He shares the third highest last out speed number and has put in a stout workout in the last thirty days. This guy will attempt the Tampa Turf for the first time. A son of Street Sense, he is 36% in the money from eleven starts.
