 We journey into the "Pea Patch" to take in some great Turf action.

Ellis Park Race 8 {Nashville Derby~1 1/8 mile~TURF~3 year-old~Stakes}

A reduced field of eight will hit the Turf in this Kentucky Downs preview race.

There is sufficient speed in the race to keep the pace flowing. Only two have gone this distance. One has gone longer and the other five will be stretching out. Speed numbers are fairly close. Two entrants have raced over the Ellis Park course. It should be a fine race with a terrific field.

#8 Tomasello (De La Cruz / M. Casse) has hit the board in both of his starts at this distance. He comes into the race with the second highest (tie) last out speed number and three aggressive peaking workouts. Obviously, he loves the Turf and the distance. #7 Emergence (Gaffalione / B. Cox) is cutting back from a longer route sharing the second highest alst out speed number and showing four wholesome workouts. He should track the pace and strike in the stretch. A son of Uncle Mo, he is 75% in the money from four starts.

#2 Yinzer (K. Asmussen / S. Asmussen) has the tactical speed to adapt to the pace. This guy will stretch out to the distance. #9 Siesta Key (Geroux / B. Cox) should track the pace closely. He holds the second highest last out speed number and three decent workouts. #1 Mesero (Lanerie / Romans) is the other that has competed at this distance. He comes to the race with four strong workouts in the last thirty days. This colt should track and close gallantly. A son of Not This Time, he 50% in the money from six starts.
