Maryland Millions Day

 A great Stakes Saturday unfolds with smashing races across the continent. We look to the Maryland dirt for a fantastic sprint race.

Laurel Park Race 12 {MD Million Sprint~6 furlongs~3 year-old Up~Stakes}

A nice field of nine will go to the dirt in this annual contest. Hopefully the field stays intact as we publish this before scratches are announced.

There is plenty of speedy and forwardly placed types to keep the pace rolling. Speed numbers are fairly close with only three having hit triple-digit speed figs. All have competed over the dirt, distance, and Laurel track. It will be a tremendous race to cap off the Laurel card.

#8 Haileysfirstnotion (M. Sanchez / Capuano) comes in with the highest last out speed number and two speedy peaking workouts. He should be the controlling speed and will seek to wire the field. He holds the highest speed number over the dirt, distance, and track. A son of Great Notion, he is 90% in the money from ten starts.

#9 Twisted Ride (A. Hernandez / Moore) will challenge with the third highest last out speed number (tie) and one bullet workout. He should be forwardly placed seeking positional authority. Like many in this race he loves the dirt, distance, and track. Another son of Great Notion, he is 64% in the money from thirty-four starts.

#1 Catahoula Moon (X. Perez / Robb) should track the sizzling pace and strike in the stretch. He shares the third highest last out speed number and has posted two superb workouts. This guy comes to the race with a three race progression. A son of Golden Lad, he is 57% in the money from twenty-one starts.

#5 Slam Notion (Toledo / Bailes) should be in the mix with the highest last out speed number at a longer sprint and two robust workouts. Look for him to travel close to the pace. He is exceptional at the distance and over the track. Another son of Great Notion, he is 70% in the money from ten starts.

#6 Freeze the Fire (Barbosa / Salzman) comes to the race off a win at a slightly longer sprint and two powerful peaking bullet workouts. He has the tactical speed to adapt to the pace. A son of Freisan Fire, he is 46% in the money from twenty-eight starts.

#3 Heard On Thestreet (J. Rodriguez / Geralis) should track the pace closely. He has hit the board in his last nine starts. This lad is another that relishes the dirt, distance, and track. A son of Street Magician, he is 77% in the money from twenty-one starts.
