Superfecta Sunday at Santa Anita

 Santa Anita opens today, and we take in a grade one going long on the Turf.

Santa Anita Park Race 11 {American Oaks~G1~1 1/4 mile~TURF~3 year-old~Fillies~Graded Stakes}

A talented field of eleven will hit the green in this annual affair.

Past performances used:  Equibase.

Every entrant will attempt this distance for the first time, though two will drop in distance. There is enough speed to push the pace forward. Speed numbers are fairly close. Only two will run over the Santa Anita course for the first time. All are well prepped for the race. It is the "lucky last" and will be an excellent handicapping opportunity.

#10 Atsila [IRE] (T. Pereira / Baltas) will be making her first North American start after racing in France, Ireland, and Great Britain. She is good over the Turf and has put in two solid workouts. This filly should track the pace closely. A daughter of Phoenix of Spain [IRE], she is 42% in the money from seven starts.

Synthetic Championships on Superfecta Sunday

 We go to the Tapeta in Kentucky on this Superfecta Sunday.

Turfway Park Race 6 {My Charmer Stakes~1 mile~Synthetic~3 year-old Up~Fillies / Mares~Stakes}

A reduced field of eight will go to the Tapeta in this Synthetic Championships event.

There is enough speed in the race to keep an honest pace. Speed numbers are fairly close though only two have hit a triple digit figure in their last three races. Only two have competed over the Turfway track. All but one have raced over synthetic tracks at other venues. It should be a fine race to wager and watch.

A Little Florida Turf on Stakes Saturday

 We take on the last race on the Gulfstream card. A great graded stakes race going long on the Turf.

Gulfstream Park Race 11 {Fort Lauderdale Stakes~G3~1 1/8 mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~Graded Stakes}

A talented field of ten will hit the grass in this annual event.

This field has sufficient speed to create an honest pace. Any of these lads have the capability to pull off the win. Speed figs are fairly close. Only one will try the Gulfstream course for the first time. Three millionaires make an appearance in the field. All but one of these racers have competed at this distance. It should be an excellent race to cap off the card.

#5 Beach Gold (J. Alvarado / Biancone) will stretch out to this distance exiting a grade one event. He holds the second highest last out speed number and three superb peaking workouts.  Off to Hot Springs for a fantastic sprint race for the young fillies.

Ten talented young ladies will go to the gate in this feature race on the card.

A reduced field of ten will hit the Turf in this annual contest.

 On this Stakes Saturday we take in a fantastic grade two with 2026 Kentucky Derby points on the line.

An extremely field of eleven will hit the dirt in this annual contest.

All but one in this field will be stretching out to the distance. There is enough speed to produce an honest pace. Speed numbers are fairly close making it competitive race. Four will try the Aqueduct track for the first time. It should be a very exciting race.

#5 Chambersville (C. Elliott / McPeek) will be making a surface switch from Turf to dirt, but should handle it well. This lad should track the pace. He holds the highest last out speed number and four strong peaking workouts. A son of Twirling Candy, he is 66% in the money from three starts.
