Stakes Saturday Up North

 We head up North to Canada to take in a million-dollar stakes race on this Stakes Saturday.

A great group of twelve colts, fillies, and geldings will take to the Tapeta in this annual contest.

There is sufficient speed in the race to keep the pace moving swiftly. Two fillies will challenge the lads. All will stretch out to this distance for the first time. Speed figs are fairly close. One entrant will try the Tapeta for the first time. It should be a fantastic race on a great day of racing.

#1 Luster (J. Velazquez / J. Carroll) is the deserved favorite with the highest last out speed number and one dynamite workout. She will be seeking her third win in a row as she rides a three-race speed fig progression. This gal should sit right off the leaders and strike in the stretch. A daughter of Knicks Go, she is 100% in the money form five starts.

#5 Dixie Law (P. Moran / Desruisseaux) is the other filly in the race and will challenge with the second highest last out speed number and two solid workouts. She should track the pace closely. She loves the Tapeta and the track. A daughter of Tiz the Law, she is 75% in the money from eight starts.

#7 Magical Factor (Campos / Halden) is another that has repeated his last two speed figs. He should be part of the pressing crew. This guy loves the Tapeta and the track. In preparation he has put in four superb workouts. A son of The Factor, he is 60% in the money from five starts.

#8 Highwaytothemoon (R. Hernandez / Desruisseaux) is another that has repeated his last two speed figs. He comes to the race with the third highest last out speed number and two sound workouts. A son of Ransom the Moon, he is 85% in the money from seven starts.

#12 Military Time (Aebly / M. Casse) has hit the board in all five of his starts over the Tapeta and track. He is another that should track the pace closely. Two strong peaking workouts add to his capability. A son of Gun Runner, he is 83% in the money from six starts.

#9 Brachetto (Munger / Carey) has improved his speed numbers in each of his last three starts. He has arguably the best workout tab with three supreme peaking workouts. This guy enjoys the Tapeta and track. A son of Vekoma, he is 100% in the money from five starts.
