Santa Anita and La Canada

Today we venture out into the sunshine at Santa Anita for the La Canada stakes.

Santa Anita R8 {La Canada~G2~1 1/8 mile~4 year old~fillies~Stakes}
A group of fabulous fillies goes to the gate for this race.  It appears to be a race between two top caliber gals with three others that will threaten.  Stardom Bound (Leparoux / R. Dutrow) looks like she is ready.  She is 100% in the money on the surface and at Santa Anita.  A decent last out speed number, a five race progression, and two nice workouts help her cause.  Unrivaled Belle (Desormeaux / Mott) will be her chief competitor.  Unrivaled Belle has th top last out speed number, a five race progression and two stout workouts in preparation for this race.  She is also 100% in the money for all five career starts.  Applause(IRE) (Ahern / S. Callaghan) may be the surprise. Though she has been racing in Great Britain, she appears to like the surface and has posted three awesome workouts for this race.  Floating Heart (Talamo / Pletcher) should be able to garner a piece of this purse with the second highest last out speed number, a couple of good workouts, and an eight race progression.  Another one that could surprise is Gripsholm Castle (Espinoza / Cecil).  She too has been racing in Great Britain, but has posted three monster workouts leading up to this race.  Let's have fun at sunny Santa Anita.
