Turffy Sunday

On the last day of our horse racing weekend we look at a couple of splendid Turf races on each coast.

Gulfstream Race 10 {Lady's Turf Sprint~5 furlongs~4 year old Up~fillies/mares~Stakes}
An exceptional field of thirteen line up for this second annual stakes race.  It is an electic bunch of gals looking for a chance to have their picture taken in the winners circle.

#5 Rose Catherine (Castellano / Pletcher) looks to be the one to beat with the second highest speed number at the distance, a couple of good last out speed numbers, and four superb workouts.  She will be the odds on favorite.
$1 WIN / SHOW.

#2 Stormy Publisher [ARG] (A. Garcia / Clement) will be attempting four wins in a row.  She has the fourth highest last out speed number at a longer sprint and a tremendous peaking workout tab of four works.
$1 PLACE / SHOW.

#11 Suzzona (Ramos / Feliciano) has sixteen wins in thirty-eight races to her credit.  She is coming into this one as her second start of the year with the third highest speed number at the distance and one decent workout.  Expect her to be forwardly placed and ready to move in the stretch.
$2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests
#7 Ahvee's Destiny (Bravo / Rice) will be ready to be in the hunt with the highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and two sharp workouts.
#3 Midst (J. Velazquez / Pletcher).  Watch this gal as she makes her first Turf sprint start after performing very well on synthetic posting a triple digit speed number and having the best workout tab of four fierce, peaking workouts.

10 CENT Superfecta
#5 Rose Catherine / #2 Stormy Publisher [ARG] / #11 Suzzona / #7 Ahvee's Destiny, #3 Midst.


Santa Anita Race 8 {1 mile~Turf~4 year old Up~fillies/mares~Allowance}
A very nice field of nine will make their start in this allowance feature.  It should be a very competitive race with enough speed for the closers to shine.

#3 Cry Hallelujah (Talamo / Walsh).  Yes, it's Sunday.  This gal will be the one to beat with the second highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and two athletic workouts.
$2 SHOW.

#8 Come Touch The Sun [IRE] (Bejarano / Sadler).  She should be able to land in the money from a tracking position with a couple of decent last out speed numbers and a ferocious five furlong workout.
$2 SHOW.

#2 Charlies Princess (Blanc / Yaktem) looks ready to run a big race with the fourth highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and one aggressive workout.
$2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests
#6 Bella Swan [GB] (Rosario / Callaghan) will be making her first North American start with four excellent workouts in preparation.  She has great experience in Great Britain at the mile distance.
#1 Granite Girl [GB] (Flores / Vienna) looks in great form for her second North American start.  She has posted the second highest last out speed number and five fantastic, peaking wotrkouts.
#7 Warren's Got Game (Valenzuela / Guiterrez) will challenge the group with the highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and three robust workouts.  The race may set up for her to close fast for a shot in the winners circle.

10 CENT Superfecta
#3 Cry Hallelujah / #8 Come Touch The Sun [IRE] / #2 Charlies Princess / #6 Bella Swan [GB], #1 Granite Girl [GB], #7 Warren's Got Game.


















Saturday's Results
Aqueduct R10.  Gotham. Our first pick, Stay Thirsty, won (1st) for win money of $1.90 and show money of $1.05.  Our second pick, Toby's Corner, finished third for show money of $1.15.  Our third pick, Dawly, was scratched.  We scuttled our 10 CENT Superfecta due to scratches.  Superfecta went 5-8-4-2.
Turfway Park R9.  John Battaglia.  Our first pick, Positive Response, won (1st) for show money of $3.00.  Our second pick, Twinspired, finished 4th.  Our third pick, Night Party, finished 5th.  Superfecta went 6-8-7-9.
Bankroll dips further to $14.50.
