A Pleasant Winter Thursday

A mild January Thursday at Aqueduct to start off our horse racing weekend.

Aqueduct Race 8 {6 furlongs~inner dirt~4 year old Up~Optional Claiming}
An evenly matched group of eight will start in this sprint.  In terms of speed numbers all are reasonably close.  This will be anyone's race.

#3 Surprise Strike (L. Perez / Englehart) has the edge with the third highest (tie) last out speed number, a five race progression, and two solid workouts.  This gelding looks ready to run a great pressing race.
$2 SHOW.

#8 Wee Freudian (Dominguez / Schosberg) will present a significant challenge with the second highest last out speed number and three strong, peaking workouts.  This guy holds the second highest speed number over the Aqueduct course.
$2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#5 Galaxy Kat (Curatolo / Breen) looks ready for a good effort sharing the third highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and one peaking workout.  He could motor on the front end with others.

#4 Haystack Needle (Valdivia / Hushion) will be the speed in the race hoping to hold on for a piece of the purse.  He holds the fourth highest last out speed number, a four race progression, and three superb peaking workouts.  He can certainly be considered a contender.
