Fantastic Gulfstream Friday

Friday rolled up on us fast this week.  Today we look at a fun Allowance race at Gulfstream Park.

Gulfstream Park Race 3 {1 mile~3 year old~Allowance}
A very small field of five will make their start, all but one coming off a layoff.  Despite the small field, it has a great balance of running styles.  Should be a super race.

#1 Gemologist (Castellano / Pletcher) will making his first start of the 2012 after a nice layoff since November.  He holds the second highest overall speed number at a longer route, has won all three of his career races, and has put in four swift, peaking workouts in preparation for this race.  This speedy colt could control the pace to victory.
$1 WIN / SHOW.

#3 Currency Swap (Maragh / Pompay) will challenge coming off an extended layoff.  He holds the highest overall speed number, is perfect in two career starts, and has put in four strong workouts.  He should be forwardly placed ready to strike.
$1 PLACE / SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#2 Jordan's Image (Rocco / Quiroz) looks ready to make a strong effort with the third highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and one fluid workout.  He could track and close well into the pace.

#5 Angel's Tune (J. Velazquez / Pletcher) will be chasing with a decent couple of last out speed numbers, a three race progression, and three athletic, peaking workouts.  He should find himself close to the pace ready to launch in the stretch.

10 CENT Superfecta
Odd that there is one in this small field.

#1 Gemologist / #3 Currancey Swap / #2 Jordan's Image / #5 Angel's Tune.
