Furlong Friday at Fair Grounds

On the eve of the Louisiana Derby, we take a look at a very good sprint on the Turf down in New Orleans.

Fair Grounds Race 10 {5 1/2 furlongs~TURF~3 year old~fillies~Maiden}
A seriously promising group of twelve will saunter onto the grass in this featured Turf sprint. Any one of these gals has the potential to walk into the winners circle.  It is a highly contentious race with  great pedigree among the starters. Some of the great sires include:  Invasor [ARG}, Giants Causeway, City Zip, Candy Ride [ARG], and Medaglia d'Oro to name a few. This race is a horse players dream with all kinds of angles to be analyzed for the exotic plays. Good things will happen to all of these gals after they compete in this race.

#10 Broadway Heat (Geroux / Dubon) has the experience with a couple of races under her saddle. She has a couple of decent last out speed numbers, the highest speed number at the distance, and three pure peaking workouts. She should track the pace closely in this crowded field and spring forward into the stretch.
$2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#8 Candy Cate (Graham / Stidham) will be making her second start, her first over the turf. She holds the highest last out speed number at a slightly longer sprint and has put in three wholesome workouts. This gal should be forwardly placed ready to clear the field.

#9 Seoul Gold (Mena / Stidham) is a first time starter with the pedigree (Medaglia d'Oro) for a first out score. She has put in four stellar, peaking workouts prepping for her debut over the Turf.

#3 Colerful Bride (Albarado / Tracy) will be making her second start over the Turf. She holds the second highest  (tie) last out speed number and two strong workouts. She should close well into a strong pace.
