Horse Racing Weekend Begins at Oaklawn

Nice horse racing weather in Hot Springs, Arkansas for the start of our horse racing weekend. Cloudy, humid and temps near 60 degrees should be good for the first race.

Oaklawn Park Race 1 {6 furlongs~3 year-old Up~fillies/mares~Waiver Maiden Claiming}
A good crop of eight will go to the gate in the first offering on the card. There is enough speed in this one to keep an honest pace. All of the speed figs are relatively comparable. It should be a good race to start our horse racing weekend.

#1A Love Takes Flight [ONT-C] (Hamilton / Milligen) might enjoy the Arkansas dirt after an extended layoff. Her first two starts were over the beautiful Turf course up at Woodbine. She holds the highest last out speed number, is working a two race progression, and has put in two superb peaking workouts. Expect her to sit right off the pace and enter the straight with flourish.
$2 SHOW.

#4 Wickedly Sweet (Bridgmohan / Hobby) could go off as the favorite and deservedly so. She holds the third highest last out speed number and has put in one sound workout. She is consistently in the money.  Today could be the day she breaks through. This gal should be motoring on the front end ready to score.
$2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#2 Status (Santana / Asmussen) should contend with the second highest last out speed number, a five race progression, and three excellent peaking workouts. She could be pressing or tracking a strong pace. This gal will be coming into this off a brief freshening.

#6 Misty Journey (L. Quinonez / Von Hemel) should be in the mix with a couple of o.k. last out speed numbers, a two race progression, and three hearty peaking workouts. She could possibly sent, using her speed against these rivals. She does have the second highest speed number at the distance.
