Parx {Pennsylvania Derby~G2~{1 1/8 mile~3 year-old~Graded Stakes}

A field of twelve of the best 3 year-olds in the country will compete for the $1,250,000 purse. There is plenty of speed and forwardly placed types to insure a fast pace. Speed numbers are all very close among these talented horses. It should be the best race of the day.

#9 Nyquist (Gutierrez / O'Neill) should redeem himself in this race with the fourth highest (4-way tie) last out speed number and four endurance producing workouts. This guy should be able race right up the near the pace and breakaway in the stretch. A millionaire son of Uncle Mo, he holds the highest in the money record of 90% from ten starts.
$2 WIN  /  $3 PLACE  /  $5 SHOW.

#7 Gun Runner (Geroux / Asmussen) should present a mighty challenge with the highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and three stout peaking workouts. He should be tracking the pace closely ready to strike in the stretch. A millionaire son of Candy Ride [ARG], he holds an impressive in the money record of 77% from nine starts.
$2 PLACE  /  $3 SHOW.

#5 Cupid (Bejarano / Baffert) should contend sharing the fourth highest last out speed number, working a four race progression, and throwing down three sensational peaking workouts. This son of Tapit comes into the race with two wins in a row. He should be part of the front running crew.

Another Wagering Interest

#3 Summer Revolution (Smith / R. Rodriguez) could surprise with the third highest last out speed number at a sprint and three fierce bullet workouts. This lad should do very well on the stretch out as a son of Summer Bird. He should be right off the pace in the proper position to sneak away.
