Stakes Saturday Long on the Turf

As weekend warriors we love the tremendous number of stakes races across the country. Today we take in a race that should be part of a Triple Crown for the Turf, The Belmont Derby.

Belmont Park Race 10 {Belmont Derby~G1~1 1/4 mile~TURF~3 year-old~Graded Stakes}

A smashing group of nine will hit the Turf in this annual event. There is sufficient speed to maintain an honest pace. Speed figs are fairly close. There are two Euros that have come in for this highly competitive event. It should be a great race.

#3 Analyze It (J. Ortiz / C. Brown) looks like the horse to beat. He shares the second highest last out speed number and has put in three superb workouts. This guy is 100% in the money from four career starts. A son of Point of Entry, he should stay this distance and could wire the field.
$1 WIN  /  $2 PLACE  /  $3 SHOW.

#4 Hunting Horn [IRE] (Moore / A. O'Brien) should challenge as he makes his first North American start. He is 100% in the money at this distance having covered three times. This lad holds the highest last out speed number and is working a seven race progression. A son of Camelot [GB], he should be driving close to the pace.
$1 PLACE  /  $2 SHOW.

#9 My Boy Jack (Desormeaux / Desormeaux) is getting back to what could be his preferred surface after having last been seen taking fifth in the Kentucky Derby. He holds the third highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and four hearty peaking workouts. With a decent pace, this son of Creative Cause, should be closing gallantly.
$1 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#7 Catholic Cowboy (Castellano / Thomas) should contend sharing the second highest last out speed number, working a two race progression, and putting in three solid peaking workouts. This guy loves the surface and the Belmont course. A son of More Than Ready, he should be tracking the pace ready to strike.

#6 Kingstar [FR] (Boudet / Brandt) is an intriguing runner in this contest. He had a couple of successful last out runs in France scoring a victory in his last at a bit longer distance. This son of Evasive [GB] has put in a strong workout over the Belmont Turf in preparation for this race. He should be part of the tracking crew.
