Superfecta Sunday at Santa Anita

Nestled in the San Gabriel Mountains, we take a look at a fantastic Turf sprint at the "Great Race Place".

Santa Anita Park Race 6 {Speakeasy Stakes~5 Furlongs~TURF~2 year-old~Stakes}

Speakeasy, a fitting name for a number of these lads in this group of eleven. There is a plethora of speed which should make the pace very fast. Speed numbers are fairly close making the race super competitive. None of these young colts have ever raced over the Santa Anita Turf. Only a few have even raced over Turf which should make it all the more intriguing. Our task is to distill a winning 10 CENT box Superfecta ticket.

#8 Square Deal (Prat / Callaghan) appears ready to make it three wins in a row as he makes the switch from dirt to Turf. He holds two very good last out speed numbers and three superlative peaking workouts. A son of Square Eddie, he can sit off the steamy pace and launch into the stretch.

#2 Alfie Solomons (V. Espinoza / W. Ward) Lives!! (fans of the great Netflix show, Peaky Blinders, know what that means). This colt is coming in fresh off a brief layoff after winning first out at the tough and tumble Kentucky Downs course. He is coming down a bit in distance and should show his speed from the opening gate. A son of Kantharos, he could wire this field. He is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.
$2 SHOW.

#6 Ginbilli (Van Dyke / Baltas) has the tactical speed to engage as the pace develops. This lad holds the fourth highest last out speed number at a little longer dirt sprint and four powerful peaking workouts. A son of Munnings, he should take to the turf well.

#3 Commander [FR] (Cedillo / D'Amato) looks to improve after competing in a mile route race last out. He has banked two wins over the Turf competing in France. This guy has put in three superb workouts in preparation. A son of War Command, he should track the pace closely and strike in the stretch.

10 CENT Superfecta Box ($2.40)

#8 Square Deal  +  #2 Alfie Solomons  +  #6 Ginbilli  +  #3 Commander [FR].
