Furlong Friday Turf Sprint in South Florida

On this Furlong Friday we take a look at a good Turf Sprint in South Florida.

Gulfstream Park Race 5 {5 Furlongs~3 year-old Up~Allowance}

A good field of eight will step on to the Turf in this Allowance feature. There is plenty of speed to push the pace. Speed figs are very close making this one competitive. It should be a fine Friday race to kick off our Horse Racing Weekend.

#6 Frenchmen Street (L. Saez / Maker) might have the edge with the highest (tie) last out speed number and two solid workouts. This lad is 88% in the money at the distance. He should be forwardly placed with a large group. A son of Malibu Moon, loves the surface, distance, and Gulfstream Park course.
$1 WIN /  $2 PLACE  /  $3 SHOW.

#2 Tiger Blood (Zayas / Klesaris) will present a mighty challenge with the third highest last out speed number and one peaking workout.  This guy has eight wins from nine starts at this distance. He is another that loves the surface, distance, and course. A son of Cowtown Cat, he is another that should be up front with the speed crew.

#7 Sturgeon (Panici / Condie) should also challenge sharing the highest last out speed number. He drops in from a last out stakes race holding a 61% in the money record at this distance. A son of Great Sense, he is yet another that will join the speedsters.

#3 Chaps (C. Landeros / Kenneally) will contend with the second highest last out speed number and two hearty workouts. This gelding is coming in off an extended layoff last racing at Churchill Downs. A son of More Than Ready, he is 60% in the money at this distance.
