Superfecta Sunday in the Midwest Corn Fields

On this Superfecta Sunday we look in on a fantastic graded stakes race in our neighboring state of Iowa.

Prairie Meadows Race 10 {Cornhusker Handicap~G3~1 1/8 mile~3 year-old Up~Graded Stakes}

A talented field of nine will hit the dirt in this evening graded stakes race. It comes up a little light on speed which should make it an interesting handicapping challenge. Speed numbers are fairly close. They are all coming in from a variety of tracks and only five have had a taste of the Prairie Meadows dirt. Our task is to combine a winning 10 CENT Superfecta Box ticket. It should be a fun race as we all settle in for the evening.

#3 Night Ops (M. Garcia / B. Cox) should go off as the favorite with the third highest last out speed number and three endurance producing workouts. He also holds the third highest speed number at the distance. Coming out of stiffer competition at Oaklawn Park in his last, he will be tracking the pace. A son of Warrior's Reward, this lad is 59% in the money from seventeen career starts.

#4 Sheriff Brown (Santana / Asmussen) will be stretching out to this distance. He posted a couple of decent last out speed numbers and has put in three sharp peaking workouts. He comes in from Sunland Park down in New Mexico. This guy should start picking off tiring horses as they head into the stretch. A son of Curlin, he is 80% in the money from ten career starts. He is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.
$2 SHOW.

#1 My Sixth Sense (Cabrera / Hobby) will challenge with the second highest (tie) last out speed number and one bullet workout. This lad could be part of the pace scenario as he should be forwardly placed. He comes in from Churchill Downs. A son of Street Sense, he is 56% in the money from eighteen career starts.

#8 Downtowner (L. Goncalves / Arnett) should contend with the second highest speed number at the distance (tie) and one sound workout. This lad should be forwardly placed. He does have an enviable record over the Prairie Meadows dirt, hitting the board 85% of the time from seven starts. A son of Majestic Warrior, he is 60% in the money overall from twenty career starts.
