Stakes Saturday at Santa Anita

 We go into Sunny Southern California for a nice long stakes Turf race for the Cali Breds.

Santa Anita Park Race 10 {Unusual Heat Turf Classic~1 1/8 mile~TURF~4 year-old Up~CA Breds~Stakes}

A splendid field of eight will go to the gate in this annual feature.

Past Performances used:  Equibase.

This one comes up light on speed, but there are a few forwardly placed types that could lead them through honest fractions. Speed numbers are very close making this one very competitive. Two will be stretching out to this distance for the first time. All look well prepped for this race. It should be a fine race as the lucky last on the card.

#1 Aligato (Prat / Glatt) has already notched a win at this distance in his only try. He holds the fourth highest last out speed number and three strong workouts. This guy should track and close nicely. A son of Kitten's Joy, he is 72% in the money from seven career starts.

$2 WIN  /  $3 PLACE  /  $5 SHOW.

#8 Carmelita's Man (J. Hernandez / Pederson) is the deserved favorite with the second highest last out speed number and four superb workouts. This lad should track the pace and strike in the stretch. A son of Mucho Macho Man, he is 61% in the money from twenty-one career starts.

$2 PLACE  /  $3 SHOW.

#5 Kings River Knight (Dettori / Mathis) should challenge as he stretches out to this distance. He is undefeated over the Turf surface. This gelding should be forwardly placed ready for battle. He comes in from Golden Gate and will race over the Santa Anita Turf for the first time. A son of Acclamation, he is 100% in the money from six career starts.

$2 SHOW.
