Stakes Saturday in Delaware

 Off we go to Delaware for a Stakes race on the Turf for our Stakes Saturday.

Delaware Park Race 9 {Kent Stakes~1 1/8 mile~TURF~3 year-old~Stakes}

A reduced field of nine will go to the grass in this annual event.

There is enough speed to carry this race forward swiftly. Speed numbers are fairly close. Five runners will be stretching out to this distance. Only four have run over the Delaware course. All are proficient on the Turf. It should be a very nice race on a good day of racing.

#12 King of Ashes (Cannon / B. Walsh) last raced at Kentucky Downs at a longer route and has put in two decent workouts. This lad does hold the highest speed number at the distance. Pennsylvania Derby Day

 We look in on the great card at Parx today and key in on the PA Derby.

PARX Race 14 {Pennsylvania Derby~G1~1 1/8 mile~3 year-old~Graded Stakes}

A very talented field of ten will go to the gate in this annual event.

Significant speed turns up this race which should produce a sizzling pace. Sped figs are fairly close. Only one has raced over the Parx track.  The Kentucky Derby trail begins with a fantastic race under the Twin Spires on this Stakes Saturday.

Churchill Downs Race 8 {Iroquois Stakes~G3~1 mile~2 year-old~Graded Stakes}

A talented field of ten youngsters will go to the post in the first Kentucky Derby points race on the schedule.

There is enough speed to produce an honest pace. Speed numbers are fairly close. Only four have raced over the Churchill track. All but two will be stretching out to the distance. One of the entrants will be trying the dirt surface for the first time. It should be a fantastic race on a day of great Stakes race across the country.

#7 Comport (Gaffalione / Kenneally) is the morning line favorite with the highest last out speed number and four robust workouts. He should run close to the pace and strike in the stretch.  On this Superfecta Sunday we look in on a great Stakes race as the Kentucky Downs meet closes out.

It should be competitive as these youngsters tackle this rolling course. It should be a great race on a fantastic Superfecta Sunday of racing.

#7 Street Beast (Machado / Colebrook) is the overwhelming favorite as he wheels back from a win over this course just a week ago. He holds the highest last out speed number and one superb workout. Look for him to be forwardly placed close to the pace. A son of Street Sense, he is 100% in the money from two starts.
