The Kentucky Derby trail begins with a fantastic race under the Twin Spires on this Stakes Saturday.

A talented field of ten youngsters will go to the post in the first Kentucky Derby points race on the schedule.

There is enough speed to produce an honest pace. Speed numbers are fairly close. Only four have raced over the Churchill track. All but two will be stretching out to the distance. One of the entrants will be trying the dirt surface for the first time. It should be a fantastic race on a day of great Stakes race across the country.
#7 Comport (Gaffalione / Kenneally) is the morning line favorite with the highest last out speed number and four robust workouts. He should run close to the pace and strike in the stretch. This guy will be stretching out with a nice three race speed fig progression. A son of Collected, he is 100% in the money from three starts.

#10 Maximus Prime (L. Saez / Mitchell) should track the pace. He had a decent last out speed number and three good workouts. This lad has competed at this distance. He holds the highest speed number over the Churchill oval. A son of Maximus Mischief, he is 66% in the money from three starts.
$2 PLACE / $3 SHOW.
#1 Nothing Personal (J. Rodriguez / Compton) is coming in from Colonial to make his second career start. Look for him to be part of the tracker pack. He holds the third highest last out speed number and three strong workouts. A son of Violence, he holds a 100% win rate from that one start.

#8 Vost (Geroux / Walden) is another making his second career start. He will stretch out with two power workouts. Expect him to close mightily entering into the stretch run. He last raced at Ellis Park. A son of Instagrand, he also holds a 100% win rate from one start.
#5 Spice Runner (J. Ortiz / Asmussen) also comes in from Ellis Park with the second highest alst out speed number and three solid peaking workouts. This lad should be forwardly placed battling on the lead. He does have a win over the Churchill track. A son of Gun Runner, he is 66% in the money from three starts.
#6 Shake and Rattle (Graham / Desormeaux) has the most experience over the Churchill track with three races over it. Look for him to track the pace closely and sprout into the stretch. On a stretch-out he comes in from Kentucky Downs. A son of Rock Your World, he is 40% in the money from five starts.
