Stakes Saturday in Delaware

 Off we go to Delaware for a Stakes race on the Turf for our Stakes Saturday.

Delaware Park Race 9 {Kent Stakes~1 1/8 mile~TURF~3 year-old~Stakes}

A reduced field of nine will go to the grass in this annual event.

There is enough speed to carry this race forward swiftly. Speed numbers are fairly close. Five runners will be stretching out to this distance. Only four have run over the Delaware course. All are proficient on the Turf. It should be a very nice race on a good day of racing.

#12 King of Ashes (Cannon / B. Walsh) last raced at Kentucky Downs at a longer route and has put in two decent workouts. This lad does hold the highest speed number at the distance. He has the tactical speed to adapt to the pace. This will be his first attempt over the Delaware course. A son of Street Sense, he is 50% in the money from four starts.

#8 Geometry (J. Rodriguez / Thomas) comes in from Del Mar with the highest last out speed number and one solid workout. It will be his first try over the Delaware course. He should track the pace closely and spring into the stretch. A son of Twirling Candy, he has a 50%-win rate from four starts.

#10 Thundering (J. Torres / P. Dixon) will stretch out with the third highest last out speed number and one power workout. This guy comes down from Woodbine as a Turf lover. He is another that will track the pace closely. A son of Mosler, he is 50% in the money from eight starts.

Other Wagering Interests

#4 Soleil Volant (Marin / Motion) comes in from Colonial Downs with the second highest last out speed number and one sound workout. This lad has won over the Delaware course. He should be part of the tracker pack. A son of Karakontie [JPN], he is 45% in the money from eleven starts.

#2 Versus (Chuan / Breen) will stretch out to the distance with one strong workout. He comes in from Saratoga but has successfully raced over the Delaware course. This guy is another tracker. A son of Tiz the Law, he is 50% in the money from eight starts.

#1 Flash Frozen (Leon / O'Connell) is another that will stretch out to the distance. He comes in from Monmouth with a good workout. His speed figs have improved over the last three races. Look for him to close gallantly into a solid pace. A son of Frosted, he is 62% in the money from eight starts.
